Welcome to Broadcom r48865 beta release thread for reporting, feedback to developers & community benefit.
Please do not flash builds until installation is understood, risks involved and device specificrecovery methods.
Avoid discussions, create threads for questions, general problems or use search; this thread is not for support.
Please list router model & revision, operating & wireless mode(s) and exact filename/firmware image flashed.
Issues, observations, and/or workarounds reported:
• WebUI: Clear history or use a portable. Temporary cache bypass: Ctrl+F5, Cmd+Shift+R or new private window/incognito.
• DNScrypt 1.95 can still be used in WebUIbut v2 (not compatible) requires Golang and thus Entware. See Trac ticket #6246.
• WDS does not work on Broadcom ARM devices (only MIPS<->MIPS) & bridge modes on k4.4 devices may sometimes work
in some configurations for certain builds but are not supported by the bcmdhd driver. Try client or repeater modes, but YMMV.
• VAPs not working at bootare fixed, both unbridged (r40634) and bridged (r47822). Please test, removestartup commands.
• If startup scripts do not work from USB add delay (wait script), sleep 25 or try Administration -> Commands -> Save USB.
• Broadcom ARM devices if 5 GHz channels are missingvia Telnet/SSH: 'nvram set brcm_unlock=1' 'nvram commit' 'reboot'.
• Please report findings with steps needed to reproduce, configuration, clients, output, logs and important information below!
Important:
• Detail issues & relevant configs, logs: syslog klog 'dmesg' 'cat /tmp/var/log/messages' nvram set console_debug=1, serial.
• Firewall NAT: 'iptables -vnL' 'iptables -t nat -vnL' 'iptables -t mangle -vnL' & 'cat /tmp/.ipt'. Misc: stracetcpdumpwireshark.
• Gremlins: reboot. cold boot. Reset & reconfigure not restore backup. Search Trac & discuss in forum before opening tickets.
• Include operating & wireless modes (e.g. Gateway, Router, AP, CB, WDS, Mesh) and applicable configurations to reproduce.

Router/Version: RT-AC68U / E1 (ID'd as C1)
File/Kernel: asus_rt-ac68u-firmware.trx / Linux 4.4.302 #5867 SMP Fri May 13 04:30:55 +07 2022 armv7l
Previous/Reset: r48853 dev test / Nooooo
Mode/Status: Gateway / Working
Issues/Errors:
So I have 2.4Ghz/5Ghz Wifi setup normally with a 5Ghz VAP with net/ap isolation, internet able and locked out of the regular LAN/Wifi as expected. Everyone gets a static IP, everything per my setup works.
The Issue: Only tested on a mobile phone android with Atheros chipset (didn't try a laptop). The mobile is setup to access all the Wifi AP's including the VAP for regular usage and testing.
If I connect to any of the wifi AP's including VAP, all works fine.
The ugly: Testing the ability of the router to handle consecutive AP changes from the mobile, after changing from 2.4 to 5 to VAP (not necessarily that order) 1 time or 4 consecutive changes in a row or until router conks out (Im able to switch max 3 times here, but it may need more consecutive AP switches until router bails and reboot itself in short order, nothing unusual is logged at all, even with console_debug=1 set
Note: In fact setting console_debug=1 killed my config and ability to connect to any AP's or after rebooting router via SSH, the DHCP wouldn't assign any IP's. I had to reset. Reported to BS, I heard tumbleweeds.
I can duplicate the issue over and over and over again. Reported the issue a while back to BS, but, he wants a serial output and I dont have any money to buy an adapter that works with the router, what I have doesn't work with it.
Anyone can dupe this at all? Doesn't matter what router it is, just curious in part, and if you can dupe it and have serial logs, please share.
Yeah, there is something definitely wrong here. If you go back and compare all the file sizes for this router, they are exactly the same for all builds since 3-15-2022 to present. The only thing that has changed is the date of the file. With that said, this router is nearing 20 years old. I doubt this is on the priority list to fix. _________________ Linksys EA8500 (Internet Gateway, AP/VAP) - DD-WRT r53562

which file did you use for flashing. the file versions are all correct. the error you have means the file did not flash, it simply just rebootet to the currently installed version _________________ "So you tried to use the computer and it started smoking? For those reporting 48494 showing on reboot, try CTRL+F5 of main setup page / clearing browser cache OR please provide serial logs or try flashing via telnet/ssh and provide log of CLI flash from terminal/PuTTY.

I was able to sucessfully flash the micro build on this router. I then tried to upgrade to the mini build, both GUI and cli (auto method) but the router reverted to r49494 even after the router had 48865 on it.
I'm going to try the standard generic and special generic builds to see what happens.
**Update both standard generic and special generic provide the same results - the router installs r48494 (3/15/2022) _________________ ASUS RT-AC3100 AP Merlin 386.12_4
