Thanks for that link for 05/13/22 beta builds. I am now looking at DD-WRT.v24_mini_WRT54GSv4.bin
Under 'Administration', I found the place to effect a firmware upgrade. Must I first to a 30/30/30 reset, or can I simply upgrade the firmware without doing that??
Reset generally not required unless you run into issues. In that event, do a hard reset and re-configure from scratch. Again, keep in mind, the file will be an older build until next release / unless BS uploads corrected images to 48865 folder. _________________ "Life is but a fleeting moment, a vapor that vanishes quickly; All is vanity"

yields the 2008 build I am using, which someone said was not a good build. I guess I'll wait to see if 'BS' comes up with a correction to the v48865 set.
I'm just wanting to flash with the latest & greatest for my unit.

P.S.
I would think there would be a place in the control panel to reveal what firmware is currently installed. I checked the "Administration' tab but don' see any such place.
OK ... looks like the upgrade to DD-WRT.v24_mini_generic.bin from the v48865 build list (05/16/22) was successful. Previous settings were retained.
Thanks for all the help, tips, pointers, admonitions, and hand-holding on this forum. I now have a repeater/bridge (repurposed WRT54G router) and very strong signal within my home.
