Hello, noticed the below in the basic setup:

Apologies, possibly is a silly question but to achieve the functionality of unbound and/or DN-TLS do you just select them by ticking them in the GUI? or any other steps are required?

You never did a reset after it was made a global variable on dual-band routers.

You can set a lot in nvram - but it has no function at all.

In fact, there is only one regulatory domain setting and not one setting per radio.

Code:
root@DD-WRT:~# iw reg get
global
country DE: DFS-UNSET
   (2400 - 2483 @ 40), (N/A, 20), (N/A)
   (5150 - 5250 @ 80), (N/A, 23), (N/A), NO-OUTDOOR
   (5250 - 5350 @ 80), (N/A, 20), (N/A), NO-OUTDOOR
   (5470 - 5725 @ 160), (N/A, 26), (N/A)
   (5725 - 5875 @ 80), (N/A, 13), (N/A)
   (5945 - 6425 @ 160), (N/A, 23), (N/A), NO-OUTDOOR
   (57000 - 66000 @ 2160), (N/A, 40), (N/A)

If it were different, it would not say global but phy0 and phy1...

You can also easily check the regulatory settings yourself with "iw reg get" and "iw list"

    wlan1_regdomain=JAPAN
    wlan0_regdomain=GERMANY

    * 2412 MHz [1] (20.0 dBm)
    * 2417 MHz [2] (20.0 dBm)
    * 2422 MHz [3] (20.0 dBm)
    * 2427 MHz [4] (20.0 dBm)
    * 2432 MHz [5] (20.0 dBm)
    * 2437 MHz [6] (20.0 dBm)
    * 2442 MHz [7] (20.0 dBm)
    * 2447 MHz [8] (20.0 dBm)
    * 2452 MHz [9] (20.0 dBm)
    * 2457 MHz [10] (20.0 dBm)
    * 2462 MHz [11] (20.0 dBm)
    * 2467 MHz [12] (20.0 dBm)
    * 2472 MHz [13] (20.0 dBm)

    wlan1_regdomain=JAPAN
    wlan0_regdomain=JAPAN

    * 2412 MHz [1] (20.0 dBm)
    * 2417 MHz [2] (20.0 dBm)
    * 2422 MHz [3] (20.0 dBm)
    * 2427 MHz [4] (20.0 dBm)
    * 2432 MHz [5] (20.0 dBm)
    * 2437 MHz [6] (20.0 dBm)
    * 2442 MHz [7] (20.0 dBm)
    * 2447 MHz [8] (20.0 dBm)
    * 2452 MHz [9] (20.0 dBm)
    * 2457 MHz [10] (20.0 dBm)
    * 2462 MHz [11] (20.0 dBm)
    * 2467 MHz [12] (20.0 dBm)
    * 2472 MHz [13] (20.0 dBm)
    * 2484 MHz [14] (20.0 dBm)

As you can see, only the nvram variable "wlan0_regdomain=" has a function.

R7800
wlan0 = 5Ghz
wlan1 = 2,4Ghz

yep all started with
iw reg get - it was showing US
as well the output of nvram show | grep regdomain=

wlan1_regdomain=US
wlan0_regdomain=CANADA

and them my wonder is, if global is set to Canada why it affects only 5Ghz...so, is it fixed to US for wlan1 (2,4Ghz), and there is no point changing the nvram variable to Canada...

May be as i haven't done reset for a long time i carried out old variables...?

Well, your last post makes no sense.

The variable "wlan1_regdomain=" is without function, completely without function - no matter what is set there.

The variable "wlan0_regdomain=" is a global setting and applies to all radios!

If "wlan0_regdomain=CANADA" and "wlan1_regdomain=UNITED_STATES" then "iw reg get" cannot show you US --- because "wlan1_regdomain" has no function.

also a funny fun fact, the USA and Canada have the same 2.4Ghz channels anyway
