Welcome to Broadcom r48786 beta release thread for reporting, feedback to developers & community benefit.
Please do not flash builds until installation is understood, risks involved and device specificrecovery methods.
Avoid discussions, create threads for questions, general problems or use search; this thread is not for support.
Please list router model & revision, operating & wireless mode(s) and exact filename/firmware image flashed.
Issues, observations, and/or workarounds reported:
• WebUI: Clear history or use a portable. Temporary cache bypass: Ctrl+F5, Cmd+Shift+R or new private window/incognito.
• DNScrypt 1.95 can still be used in WebUIbut v2 (not compatible) requires Golang and thus Entware. See Trac ticket #6246.
• WDS does not work on Broadcom ARM devices (only MIPS<->MIPS) & bridge modes on k4.4 devices may sometimes work
in some configurations for certain builds but are not supported by the bcmdhd driver. Try client or repeater modes, but YMMV.
• VAPs not working at bootare fixed, both unbridged (r40634) and bridged (r47822). Please test, removestartup commands.
• If startup scripts do not work from USB add delay (wait script), sleep 25 or try Administration -> Commands -> Save USB.
• Broadcom ARM devices if 5 GHz channels are missingvia Telnet/SSH: 'nvram set brcm_unlock=1' 'nvram commit' 'reboot'.
• Please report findings with steps needed to reproduce, configuration, clients, output, logs and important information below!
Important:
• Detail issues & relevant configs, logs: syslog klog 'dmesg' 'cat /tmp/var/log/messages' nvram set console_debug=1, serial.
• Firewall NAT: 'iptables -vnL' 'iptables -t nat -vnL' 'iptables -t mangle -vnL' & 'cat /tmp/.ipt'. Misc: stracetcpdumpwireshark.
• Gremlins: reboot. cold boot. Reset & reconfigure not restore backup. Search Trac & discuss in forum before opening tickets.
• Include operating & wireless modes (e.g. Gateway, Router, AP, CB, WDS, Mesh) and applicable configurations to reproduce.

Router/Version: Netgear WNDR4500 / v2
File/Kernel: dd-wrt.v24-48786_NEWD-2_K3.x_giga-WNDR4500V2.bin / 4.4.302 #15578 Tue May 3 05:54:21 +07 2022 mips
Previous/Reset: r48741 / YES (and manually configured)
Mode/Status: Router, 2x WDS-AP, STP, Samba, Torrent Client, Entware / Working with useless WAN port.
Issues/Errors: Assigning WAN to VLAN1 causes 2G WiFi connection issues, as previously reported.
Steps: Flashed this build via web UI with settings reset option > manually set basic/required network config (router IP, gateway IP, DNS IP, disabled WAN connection type, turned off DHCP, op-mode=router, disabled DNSMasq, disabled firewall) > tested 2G WiFi, which worked as expected > Assigned WAN to VLAN1 on Switch Config page > tested 2G WiFi again, which had stopped working > restored settings from previous/last build > Working with useless WAN port.
Please feel free to PM me with the words “You numbnuts!” if I’ve overlooked something. Thanks. _________________ Hardware (Device/Firmware/Roles):

I actually tried it on an R6400 which I wanted to use as a WAP, and it gave weird errors.
A WAN port is automatically assigned to the switch by just setting VLAN2 to br0 and that works but if you try it directly on the switch (which seems the most logical/best way) it does not work.
Not sure if this is an inherent problem of the switch design (but this could well be the case) or some setup problem.
