You cannot reach the VPN server.

Do you have internet on the router when the VPN is disabled?
(you can disable VPN, your settings are retained)

No there is no internet (eg from browser on PC connected to DD-WRT router.

In the ISPs router there is no connection for the DDWRT router.

However if I change the WAN connection setting to Disabled in DD-WRT. Then there is Internet on the PC connected to the DD-WRT router.

The DD-WRT router and ISPs router have the same IP address 192.168.1.1

Since there is no mention in the OpenVPN setup guide to change the DD-WRT local IP address range I left it as 192.168.1.1 / 24

Is this causing a conflict ?

Yes of course then the router is bypassed.

You need to get internet connection first, which should work if the router is reset to defaults and the WAN port is connected to the LAN of the ISP router.
The only thing which has to be taken care of is that the XR300 has another IP address (actually subnet) then the ISP router.

So you have to make sure what internet address and subnet (e.g /24 or 255/255/255/0) of the ISP router is and if that is a problem then just try something like:
192.168.32.1/24

So just to understand. IN order to cet internet working (no VPN). After reset to factory defaults the only thing to change in DD-WRT is the local IP address, nothing else. Correct ?.

Yes but assuming the isp router has a /24 (255.255.255.0) subnet the address has to be different in the third ciphers sequence (octet) and not in the fourth.

I don't know what you mean by "has to be different in the third ciphers sequence (octet) and not in the fourth" ?

I rebooted the DD-WRT router to factory settings and changed only the Local IP address to 192.168.32.1 / 24 But I am now unable to connect to the router via web browser on PC connecte stop its LAN (either on 192.168.1.1 or 192.168.32.1)

If it helps attached is a screen of the LAN config from the IPSs router .

After you changed the routers ip adress to 192.168.32.1 which is fine then you need to reboot your PC and then you can find your router at 192.168.32.1

Ah yes. Have to take the key out and put it back in again before restarting the engine...

After restarting yep I can ses the router at 192.168.32.1 and internet access OK on PC browser.

So now to re-enter the VPN config and then see what happens

And.... hallelujah hallelujah hallelujah.... it works NordVPN homepage says I have a UK IP address..

Manhy thanks for your help and for your and others previous work to give us all DD-WRT
