Wasn't sure where to post this, let me know if I should go elsewhere.

I'm pulling my hair out one what I thought was a simple project to expand wifi in my house. Figured a couple R 6400s as APs would do the trick. However, while I can hook up to them with ethernet cable, as well as 5.0 Ghz network, I'm unable to connect to the 2.4 Ghz which I need. Anyone have any advice on what may be going on? This is stock Netgear firmware:

Primary router (Netgear RAX80)
Router IP1.2.3.1
Mask: 255.255.255.0
DHCP turned off
2.4 Ghz
Channel: 11
SSID broadcast enabled
5.0 Ghz
Channel: 44
SSID broadcast enabled

Separate APA (Netgear 6400)
Router IP1.2.3.2
Mask: 255.255.255.0
DHCP turned off
2.4 Ghz
Channel: 6
SSID broadcast enabled
5.0 Ghz
Channel: 153
SSID broadcast enabled

Separate APA (Netgear 6400)
Router IP1.2.3.3
Mask: 255.255.255.0
DHCP turned off
2.4 Ghz
Channel: 1
SSID broadcast enabled
5.0 Ghz
Channel: 161
SSID broadcast enabled

DHCP is hosted on a Windows server box on my network, hence I don't use DHCP from primary router.

Wired ethernet works fine. 5.0 Ghz connects just fine to either AP. However I can't connect to 2.4 Ghz on either AP.

Seems rather bizarre !

Would flashing to DDWRT or different ROM help any?

Something tells me you are using the same SSID on all 2.4 radios. You rarely ever need to extend the 2.4 band unless your house is on Lifestyles Of The Rich And Famous.

I appreciate the tip! I took AP1 and changed the SSID on it, and I still got same failure to connect. This time is also happened with the 5.0 Ghz.
