Welcome to Broadcom r48494 beta release thread for reporting, feedback to developers & community benefit.
Please do not flash builds until installation is understood, risks involved and device specificrecovery methods.
Avoid discussions, create threads for questions, general problems or use search; this thread is not for support.
Please list router model & revision, operating & wireless mode(s) and exact filename/firmware image flashed.
Issues, observations, and/or workarounds reported:
• WebUI: Clear history or use a portable. Temporary cache bypass: Ctrl+F5, Cmd+Shift+R or new private window/incognito.
• DNScrypt 1.95 can still be used in WebUIbut v2 (not compatible) requires Golang and thus Entware. See Trac ticket #6246.
• WDS does not work on Broadcom ARM devices (only MIPS<->MIPS) & bridge modes on k4.4 devices may sometimes work
in some configurations for certain builds but are not supported by the bcmdhd driver. Try client or repeater modes, but YMMV.
• VAPs not working at bootare fixed, both unbridged (r40634) and bridged (r47822). Please test, removestartup commands.
• If startup scripts do not work from USB add delay (wait script), sleep 25 or try Administration -> Commands -> Save USB.
• Broadcom ARM devices if 5 GHz channels are missingvia Telnet/SSH: 'nvram set brcm_unlock=1' 'nvram commit' 'reboot'.
• Please report findings with steps needed to reproduce, configuration, clients, output, logs and important information below!
Important:
• Detail issues & relevant configs, logs: syslog klog 'dmesg' 'cat /tmp/var/log/messages' nvram set console_debug=1, serial.
• Firewall NAT: 'iptables -vnL' 'iptables -t nat -vnL' 'iptables -t mangle -vnL' & 'cat /tmp/.ipt'. Misc: stracetcpdumpwireshark.
• Gremlins: reboot. cold boot. Reset & reconfigure not restore backup. Search Trac & discuss in forum before opening tickets.
• Include operating & wireless modes (e.g. Gateway, Router, AP, CB, WDS, Mesh) and applicable configurations to reproduce.

Router/Version: Asus RT-AC3100
File/Kernel: asus_rt-ac3100-firmware.trx/Linux 4.4.302 #5445 SMP Tue Mar 15 04:25:58 +07 2022 armv7l
Previous/Reset: r48141 Experimental/No
Mode/Status: NAT,uPNP,SFE,G/N Mixed(VHT40),N/AC Mixed(VHT80),Wireguard site-site client;No DHCP,DNS,other svcs.
Issues/Errors: Once UI was displayed improperly using Opera (Chrome engine) but was able to view in Firefox.
First tried experimental build which showed everything was fine but the radio was not active (showed active in UI, just not on air).
Noticed that now only None,SFE,CTF are offered. Have been using SFE with no issues on the experimental builds so am leaving it for the standard build.
CPU usage is reasonable and temps are reasonable.

I still have random reboots for both RT-AC88U. The reboot frequency is from a couple of hours till a few days. Internet radio is stopping and not recover from time to time. Need to powercycle the receiver to fix the problem. Coming from build 48432 and will likely revert to 47900 which was more stable. _________________ Asus AC-RT88U (Gateway, asus_rt-ac88u-firmware_52459.trx)

Previous: 47206 (08/19/21)
Reset: before and after GUI flash
Mode/Status: Defaults, AP (NG-mixed and WPA2)
Issues/Errors: Yes
#1
The router froze when clicking Wireless > Advanced Settings during the initial configuration. After the reset/upgrade/reset, the first thing I did was save/apply Wireless Basic Settings and then save/apply Wireless Security settings. Then I clicked Advanced Settings and the GUI froze.
Using ethernet. No internet access. Hard reboot. Still no internet access. Router has WAN IP. Release/renew. Reboot. Still no internet or ping from windows. Reset router. Reconfigure wireless settings. Reboot. Success.
#2
Under Wireless > Basic Settings, disabling Wireless GUI Access has no effect after save/apply/reboot.
#3
While configuring the remaining settings over wireless (not configuring the wireless settings), the connection drops after clicking Save/Apply almost half the time. I have to manually reconnect to the wireless network to proceed.
#4
Wifi has been flaky in general for all clients, similar to my last build, 47206. Wireless devices lose internet access and have to be manually disconnected/reconnected 0-4 times per day. I've had to hard reboot the router 4 times since 2022-03-15. 47206 was worse, however. 47206's wifi got worse and worse over time, to the point that it was dropping some or all clients every couple hours. I know that's an older build, but I mention it because this build also has wireless issues, though it is slightly better.
#5
I think it would be nice if the configuration pages don't automatically scroll to the top when you click Save (for how often it seems I have to hit Apply right after.) I wonder if that's the case for the majority. Alternatively, could we add copies of the Save/Apply bottons at the top of the pages?
I know this is not the latest build, but I wanted to point out these issues in case they are still issues. I'll update to the latest build, retest, and post updates.
