Hi All
I have for the past 3 days been trying to install custom firmware on this thing as it doesn't see channels above 11 for wifi repeat mode rather stupidly.
I have tried padavans base and nano firmware via the asus restore software (doesn't work via normal web ui fails everytime) which seems to work and gives success but upon reboot i get only power light on and router is unresponsive to connection attempts
via the page linked i see openwrt can be installed
but i cannot understand how to follow the flash procedure given as the IP address on windows 7 only accepts up to the 75 so whats is the /24 about ?
Also what ip do i use for TFTP ? Any help would be very very appreciated as im ready to throw this thing against a wall at this stage.
Flash instructions:
1. Set PC network interface to 192.168.1.75/24.
2. Connect PC to the router via LAN.
3. Turn router off, press and hold reset button, then turn it on.
4. Keep the button pressed till power led starts to blink.
5. Upload the firmware file via TFTP. (Any filename is accepted.)
6. Wait until the router reboots.

Also, silly me forgot to address this: The /24 is your netmask (255.255.255.0). Maybe that will get you going, but this forum is not for discussing anything not related to DD-WRT. I have contacted someone to move this thread to the proper forum area. _________________ "Life is but a fleeting moment, a vapor that vanishes quickly; All is vanity"

some have reported success so i belive it can still be made to work , still confused about the subnet so do i use in that case 255.255.255.24 ??
also what would i use for the ip in TFTP ?
again i appreciate the help. Have reached out to asus but judging by my phone call to tech support they are clueless why its doesn't pick up channels above 11 in repeater mode even those the product is sold in a region that supports it !
