Hello!

I have tried to connect a WDR4900 V1 (r50931) to a Fritzbox 7590 as a station bridge for many hours.

I have followed the instructions, which are now many years old, as best as I can.

I also compared all settings with a WR1043DN, which works in the same mode without any problems.

Network mode, channel width, etc. tried everything.

After many attempts, I then found that a connection via the 5GHz band is not possible. Even if you want to connect to an open AP, the WDR4900 has not received or sent a single packet even after several minutes.

The channel used is also unknown.

But if you use the 2.4GHz band with exactly the same settings, I immediately have a stable connection - even with a password.

As an AP, the 5 GHz band works without any problems and also scan and find other wifis.

I don't think this is an incorrect setting in wireless -> wireless security, since no packets go in or out.

But what else can it be?

Does anyone have a hint?

Station Bridge is a hack and should be avoided at all costs Smile

It might or might not work some of the time in some combinations Sad

Attached my personal notes but chances are it just does not work for you using 5 GHz as back haul in this combination.
