Hi guys. I have a wifi problem with the acm3200 from Linksys. Currently the firmware: DD-WRT v3.0-r48138 std (01/17/22) is installed. (The problem also occurred with the versions from December/November).
Now the problem is simple: I cannot connect to the wifi. Neither with laptop or mobile or computer. The connection is simply not established. In the log I find this:
Code:
Jan 20 14:14:00 x-VPN user.info : [hostapd] : daemon on wlan0 with pid 3938 died, restarting....
Jan 20 14:14:04 x-VPN user.info : [hostapd] : daemon on wlan1 with pid 3973 died, restarting....
Jan 20 14:16:00 x-VPN user.info : [hostapd] : daemon on wlan0 with pid 3938 died, restarting....
Jan 20 14:16:45 x-VPN user.info : [hostapd] : daemon on wlan1 with pid 3973 died, restarting....
Jan 20 14:18:00 x-VPN user.info : [hostapd] : daemon on wlan0 with pid 3938 died, restarting....
Jan 20 14:18:04 x-VPN user.info : [hostapd] : daemon on wlan1 with pid 3973 died, restarting....
Jan 20 14:20:00 x-VPN user.info : [hostapd] : daemon on wlan0 with pid 3938 died, restarting....
Jan 20 14:20:04 x-VPN user.info : [hostapd] : daemon on wlan1 with pid 3973 died, restarting....
Jan 20 14:22:00 x-VPN user.info : [hostapd] : daemon on wlan0 with pid 3938 died, restarting....
Jan 20 14:22:04 x-VPN user.info : [hostapd] : daemon on wlan1 with pid 3973 died, restarting....
Jan 20 14:24:00 x-VPN user.info : [hostapd] : daemon on wlan0 with pid 3938 died, restarting....
What I tried:
Simply changed all wifi settings. From WPA / WPA2 / WPA3.
-Activated all or tried all individually.
-Also without encryption.
-Long passphrase or short.
-Tried channels on auto or individually.
-Timing tested. Always on / Always off
-wlan0/wlan1/wlan2 enabled individually.
Nothing works.
Do any of you have an idea what I can do?
btw: I use wireguard for outgoing vpn connections. the acm3200 is connected to a switch (port3) and the uplink (internet) is connected to another switch which is in turn connected to the fritzbox.
Just as an aside: I had already bought an ACM3200 in November and returned it. Precisely because of this Wifi problem. It didn't work then either. That's why I assume that it's not due to broken hardware. The wifi works with the original firmware.

I had the ArcherC7 in operation before (and now as a backup) with the same configuration (VPN etc).
Even with the latest firmware, everything worked until I bought the acm3200.
Only the VPN connection was totally slow with the TP-LINK. That's why I bought the ACM3200.

Hey, thanks for the quick reply. I had already tried this configuration on the old router and also on the acm3200. I have set it up again. But it doesn't do anything.

please show your complete WLAN settings
and wlan2 should be disabled anyway, because the radio has no external antennas and is only 1x1
The radio is not intended to be used as an AP.
ok. i have adjusted the settings accordingly.
connection still not possible.
it worked briefly with 5ghz earlier.
With "A-only". But after 30 minutes the show was over again.
Very strange.
You can still activate "single user beamforming".
otherwise "factory reset" and configure the WLAN first.
Disable IEEE 802.11w
and last but not least test US as regulatory domain.
Definitely not a normal behavior - there are enough WRT3200 here that work exactly with these settings.
after a factory reset and countless tests after the initial setup of the wifi, it worked fine. only after i reactivated wireguard, there were ip dhcp retrieval problems (wifi). after another re-setup of the vpn, it's now up and running for now
I have set wifi5g to vht160 so that I get more data throughput.
nevertheless, i am now testing the wifi connections with other devices for another 24 hours. after that, we can consider this issue as settled.
thanks for the help
