Wow, I wonder if the Clean JFFS got set by accident or was defaulted to checked for your build. Stinks to lose it all.

If I set it myself, I would have made a backup before flashing. A simple rsync or tar run from /jffs to USB drive /opt would have saved me hours of headache. I have a lot of binaries and configurations saved in JFFS. Sad Last backup was made in April 2020.

Running 47900 on an R7800.
Enabled as follows

SES / AOSS / EZ-SETUP / WPS Button
Turning off radio Enable
Turn radio off at boot Disable

Applied changes.
Checked the syslog on-line from my DNS server running Rsyslog.

Pressing the second button from the left for a certain number of seconds switched the radios off:

Dec 22 10:26:43 r7800.arnet : SES / AOSS / EZ-setup button: turning radio(s) off
Dec 22 10:26:43 r7800.arnet : SES / AOSS / EZ-setup button: turning radio(s) off

and on again a bit later:
Dec 22 10:27:49 r7800.arnet : SES / AOSS / EZ-setup button: turning radio(s) on
Dec 22 10:27:49 r7800.arnet : SES / AOSS / EZ-setup button: turning radio(s) on

I didn't check the Wireless Status window.
The network info on my laptop didn't react immediately, but Chromecast and TV lost their wireless connection, which was annoying enough Wink as I had to start the program from the beginning. All for science, though Wink

However, the button on an R7800 works, actually. The second one from the left.
Oh, and the button light goes off when the radio is off.

Have you tried restarting the 7800 and verifying that everything is really turned off Question In my 7800 the LEDs of wifi 2.4 and 5 to me, after restarting, remain on and if I try to access the WiFi from a device by entering the credentials they work.

No, I didn't try what happens after a reboot.

That's what the second option is for and I didn't enable it:
Turn radio off at boot Disable

In actual fact, I didn't even check the WiFi leds on the router. Only the second from right button/led. I didn't do such a good job Wink

So I tried again (R7800, now on f/w 47911)

The 2.4 GHz light was off after pressing the second to right button. The 5 GHz led remained on and the GUI was in accordance with that. It looks like the 5 GHz was never switched off at all.

After pressing the button again, the 2.4 GHz radio came on again as seen in the GUI, but its led remained off.
At this point both radios had connected clients.

Perhaps the 2.4 GHz led is always off. I haven't paid attention to it. Will try and reboot the router.

After rebooting also the 2.4 GHz led is on again. Per the GUI both radios are on, but as it happens no clients on 2.4 GHz until now.

After a new reboot - just to shake things up - 2.4 GHz got a client. Both radio lights flash from time to time, as they're supposed to.

The problem is confirmed. Rolling Eyes I hope for a quick solution. Wink

I'm fairly certain you meant the 2nd button from the right. The second "button" from the left is the Internet active LED.

What problem? The button in the configuration stated is to turn the radios off or on on the fly and does not survive a reboot.

Sorry but that's not the case. The second option in the services menu serves precisely this purpose. For those who need to start / turn off the WiFi on the fly there is the first while the second is used for those who want to start with WiFi OFF services and then possibly turn it on. With the 7000 it works correctly. I attach screenshots.

@Frakko: I wasn't talking about your configuration with both options enabled. Somehow, I think this is a "one or the other, not both" situation, but it's Christmas, and I am not chasing that rabbit down the hole, however, I may email BrainSlayer about it at some point. To clarify my previous erroneous-sounding comment: since turning radios off at boot was *not* selected by @ArjenR49, the radios were not off at boot. The option to turn them off on the fly doesn't mean that if you turn them off and reboot, that they will be off when you reboot. Please check with only one option selected and let us know for sure if it's a one or the other option case, thanks.

I did not understand your comment, i dont' speak english very well. However in any case if the "turn off wifi at boot" option is enabled I expect the WiFi to be turned off on reboot I expect it to be disabled. Clearly having the ability to activate it with the button is a convenience that combined with the ability to have it turned off at startup makes this option resilient. On NetGear R7000 works correctly. Merry Christmas.
