Router/Version: Netgear R7800
File/Kernel: Linux 4.9.292
Previous/Reset: CLI update from previous / No reset
Mode/Status: Gateway / Working
Issues/Errors: Works fine no errors
Using Vanilla on 2.4 and DD-WRT on 5GHz, WAN, QoS, Wireguard tunnel, DDNS, DNSmasq.
This time the DDNS service (or WireGuard ) works fine, I haven't got any disconnection since 2 days. Great build.

Reset: No Previous: DD-WRT v3.0-r47822 std (12/09/21) was briefly on DD-WRT v3.0-r47893
Setup Using: PPPOE, 2.4 GHz, 5.0 GHz, IPv4, DNSMasq, NTP TimeSync, WireGuard
Status: Working Fine; running DD-WRT firmware type for 2.4ghz & 5ghz, uptime 12+ Hrs. Overall Stable build
when I disable tunnel (WireGuard), enabling it stops all internet access. I need to disable, then delete entire tunnel and recreate it. I was not able to find anything suspicious in syslog. Not being Linux person, unable to check further.

Thank you BrainSlayer for Wonderful firmware.
Thanks all Guru for your help in forums.
You can always open a thread in the advanced networking forum, post screenshots of your setup page and the output of the requested commands in the troubleshooting section.
I run multiple routers both Broadcom and Atheros including R7800 and have no problem disabling/enabling so it must be something in your setup triggering this behavior.

Yes, I will be opening a new thread, but currently did not have sufficient time to do so. I will be posting all setup images in that post. just for info. I follow R7800 & Server guide posted by you to, nothing outside except for Advance DNSMasq options for static leases.

Kernel: Linux 4.9.292 #615 SMP Mon Dec 20 04:29:42 +07 2021 armv7l
Mode: Gateway, SFE disabled, 2.4G and 5G wifi, Wireguard for external access, WAN to 4G, Keep Alive reboot 6:02 in the morning
Reset: No
Status: Up and running since yesterday, Ok!
I just saw you reported having to "uncheck Use JFFS2 for client lease DB" and you save /jffs on a USB drive. My /jffs in on the flash chip, and it got wiped during the upgrade. It's nerve-wracking to lose more than one year's updates to /jffs. Shame on me for fogetting backup /jffs for such a long time.
Issues/Errors: Problem with wifi service off. I set the service "SES / AOSS / EZ-SETUP / WPS Button -> Turning off radio Enable and Turn radio off at boot Enabled" but the Wifi is on. In fact, if I try to connect, the connection succeeds. I attach screenshots. The problem is present from the versions I installed (I recently bought the 7800). Led Wifi is on.
However With my netgear R7000 the SES function is handled correctly. In my opinion it is an implementation problem in the Netgear R7800. I waited for some firmware before publishing the post to be sure that the problem was not momentary.
Do you have (or does anyone have) an R7800 to check the same situation?

Running 47900 on an R7800.
Enabled as follows
SES / AOSS / EZ-SETUP / WPS Button
Turning off radio Enable
Turn radio off at boot Disable
Applied changes.
Checked the syslog on-line from my DNS server running Rsyslog.
Pressing the second button from the left for a certain number of seconds switched the radios off:
Dec 22 10:26:43 r7800.arnet : SES / AOSS / EZ-setup button: turning radio(s) off
Dec 22 10:26:43 r7800.arnet : SES / AOSS / EZ-setup button: turning radio(s) off
and on again a bit later:
Dec 22 10:27:49 r7800.arnet : SES / AOSS / EZ-setup button: turning radio(s) on
Dec 22 10:27:49 r7800.arnet : SES / AOSS / EZ-setup button: turning radio(s) on
I didn't check the Wireless Status window.
The network info on my laptop didn't react immediately, but Chromecast and TV lost their wireless connection, which was annoying enough as I had to start the program from the beginning. All for science, though
However, the button on an R7800 works, actually. The second one from the left.
Oh, and the button light goes off when the radio is off.

Btw, it might be platform specific.
I wonder if it is your using a chip. My issue is more /jffs is not 'enabled', not reformatted. Ouch! Curious, what format do you use for the chip? _________________ Netgear R9000
