I have D-Link DIR-810L (Rev C1) and Firmware: DD-WRT v3.0-r34411 installed. 5Ghz network works as expected, bu 2.4GHz is not exposed, clients can't find the network. I've tried resetting the system to factory defaults (via Administration -> Factory Defaults) and still the same. On the Status -> Wireless page, I see that wl0 (2.4GHz band) shows "Radio is On) but Wireless Packet Info shows 0 received or 0 transmitted packets (which makes sense since no client can see and connect to it)

I've tried making the SSID and password of 2.4GHz and 5GHz the same, but still the same result.

it would be quite helpful if you would attach screenshots of your wifi settings and wifi status

Also, please consider upgrading the the current release, doing a hard reset, and testing. You are using a build from 2017 that may have issues that have since been fixed. The forum is not wanting to allow me to search for this device on that specific build for issues, unfortunately.

Here are the WiFi settings and status.

I did factory reset, what do you mean by "hard reset"? I'm hesitant to upgrade since hey, if it's not broken don't touch it Very Happy

Pick a channel for 2.4 band, do not use autochannel, especially on a build that old. IRT to your hesitant-to-upgrade comment, it's not my router, not my network, but if you wish to use a 4-year-old unpatched firmware on your device, that is entirely your decision. You are missing out on plenty of security patches and leaving your network vulnerable.

If you don't know what a hard reset is, read this wiki:

https://forum.dd-wrt.com/wiki/index.php/Hard_reset_or_30/30/30

Keep in mind that the 30-30-30 only applies to Broadcom MIPSR1 (WRT54* and clones) and should not be used on your router. Only 'nvram erase && reboot' would apply in newer builds - yours would be 'erase nvram' (see linked wiki). But you do not need to do a hard reset here, it is your configuration that is likely at fault or the build is suspect.

Hello!

auto-channel has selected channel 14
and channel 14 is globally allowed in only one country and that is Japan
So this could have been a wrong decision and the reason why your clients can't see the AP

Choose a manual channel e.g. 5

and you should really update the Firmware
and then configure your WLAN correctly including the regulatory domain

Choosing a channel in 2.4GHz actually helped, now status page shows some RX and TX packets. Thank you, everyone!

Hey guys,

After working as expected, the router started having issues, namely clients weren't able to keep their connections. My iPhone even kept disconnecting continously. So I took the advice and upgraded to the latest build (Firmware: DD-WRT v3.0-r47745 std (12/04/21)). Now, 5GHz doesn't work at all. Clients can see it, but they are not able to connect to it. iOS device just says "Unable to connect", I'm sure of the password I'm entering.

What's the best way to use dual-band? In my old version, I see the router had 2 interfaces, one for 2.4GHz and one for 5GHz. The new UI shows one interface (wlan0) for 2.4GHz, and one interface for 2.4GHz/5GHz/802.11ac, which is confusing to me.. I need dual-band, or at least a 2.4GHz network, since I need to connect my raspberry pi zero.

Interestingly, I see this message logged whenever I try to connect to the 5GHz band:
```
daemon.err httpd[431]: [httpd] : Request Error Code 401: Authorization required. Wrong username and/or password!
```

This is normal when you first connect to the webUI.

The auth error happens when a client tries to connect to the Wifi (my iPhone), not when accessing to the GUI.

Attached are the configurations. I've tried naming the WiFi networks the same, played with the Wireless Channel and Wireless Network Mode settings, and disabling the 2.4GHz (wlan0) altogether. No config allowed me to connect to wlan1.

In the network name only use letters and numbers

If that does not help also for password use a simple 8 letter password

For Wireless security use WPA2 Personal + CCMP128 (AES)
(you did not enable CCMP128 on the 2.4 GHz)

Some clients cannot connect to a high Channel number just use 36

iPhones are finnicky. Forget network, rejoin. But you shouldn't use special characters in SSIDs to begin with, and there are also invalid password characters.

I've tried all but doesn't work. I've used this network name in the past with no issues.

There are no invalid characters in password, it's only uppercase-lowercase letters and numbers. The same password I've been using in the old build, which worked?

The clients sometimes disconnect from the network, it happens randomly. I can't figure out why.
