Notes:
OpenVPN 2.5.4: Changelog, Guides, Server, PBR, DNS, Kill Switch, Watchdog, Reverse PBR, Client, Multiple, tips & scripts.
WireGuard 1.0.20210606/Tools: Changelog, Guides, Client, Server, Advanced, PBR, KS, tips and scripts. Thanks BS & egc!
• CVE-2019-14899 VPN fix (applicability depends on VPN setup) and GUI toggle since r41813.
Experimental build option for Broadcom 8MB+ K2.x devices (limited currently): broadcom_K3X_mipsel32r1
• Broadcom MIPS devices are now on kernel 4.4. • Support added for TP-Link Archer C8 v2 and v3.
MiniDLNACoovaChilliPrivoxyiperf3cakeFreeRADIUSOpenSSLdnsmasqUnboundTorSquidSmartDNSAsteriskBusyBox
In-kernel Samba ksmbd 3.4.2+: default min/max versions changed. • WSD updateANTFS/NTFS3 kernel mode driver+++
• Broadcom swconfig support. • CVE-2020-26147, CVE-2020-24586, CVE-2020-24587 & CVE-2020-24588 (Fragattack) fixed.
• "Assign WAN port to Switch" feature removed; likely no longer required. • MAC Filtering within WebUI fixed (47184-47205).
• Sputnik Agent removed. • "Ignore WAN DNS" also ignores WAN domain. • Milkfish removed.
New DD-WRT inspired themes conversion by the-joker & BrainSlayer, micro builds excluded.

Issues, observations, and/or workarounds reported:
WebUI: Clear history or use a portable. Temporary cache bypass: Ctrl+F5, Cmd+Shift+R or new private window/incognito.
DNScrypt 1.95 can still be used in WebUI but v2 (not compatible) requires Golang and thus Entware. See Trac ticket #6246.
WDS does not work on Broadcom ARM devices (only MIPS<->MIPS) & bridge modes on k4.4 devices may sometimes work
in some configurations for certain builds but are not supported by the bcmdhd driver. Try client or repeater modes, but YMMV.
VAPs not working at boot was fixed for unbridged VAPs (40562-40566). Effective startup commands: see discussion thread.
If startup scripts do not work from USB add delay (wait script), sleep 25 or try Administration -> Commands -> Save USB.
Broadcom ARM devices if 5 GHz channels are missing, via Telnet/SSH: 'nvram set brcm_unlock=1' 'nvram commit' 'reboot'
Please report findings with steps needed to reproduce, configuration, clients, output, logs and important information below!

Important:
• For issues provide applicable info: 'dmesg', 'cat /tmp/var/log/messages', syslog, klog, serial, strace, tcpdump, wireshark etc.
• Any firewall NAT or WAN issues, show output: 'iptables -vnL', 'iptables -t nat -vnL', 'iptables -t mangle -vnL' and /tmp/.ipt file.
• Search Trac tickets & discuss in forum before opening. Before reporting reset & manually set up, not restore from a backup.
• Please include operating & wireless modes (e.g. Gateway, Router, AP, CB, WDS, Mesh) & relevant configuration information.

Router/Version: Linksys EA6700/V1(CFE with 32k Fix)
File/Kernel: cli linksys-ea6700-webflash.bin/Linux 4.4.293
Previous/Reset: r47608/No
Mode/Status: WAP, router, wl0, VAP wl0.1, wl1, dnsmasq/working

Issues/Errors: maybe an issue with VAP/None

VAP on a WAP:
wl0.1 is set to unbridged by default, clients could not connect to wl0.1 VAP because DHCP ports are blocked on wl0.1 (figured that out using tcpdump -i wl0.1 udp port 67 and port 68 -vvv). Using DD-WRT GUI to add br1 & assign wl0.1 to br1 seems to defeat the purpose of an unbridged VAP. Anyway, I added firewall rules for wl0.1.

# Allow VAP to access DHCP on the router
iptables -I INPUT -i wl0.1 -p udp --dport 67 -j ACCEPT

Both guest network wikis need to be edited; not sure what you mean by "defeats the purpose of an unbridged VAP" - what purpose?

Major Warning(s)/Error(s)

I believe we need to update the stock /tmp/lighttpd.conf!! But then how do you make it work with older versions of Lighttpd in older DD-WRT builds? Smile

Code:
root@router:~# lighttpd -f /tmp/lighttpd.conf
2021-11-30 22:54:43: configfile.c.316) Warning: please add "mod_authn_file" to server.modules list in lighttpd.conf.  A future release of lighttpd 1.4.x will not automatically load mod_authn_file and lighttpd will fail to start up since your lighttpd.conf uses auth.backend = "plain".
2021-11-30 22:54:43: configfile.c.461) Warning: "mod_compress" is DEPRECATED and has been replaced with "mod_deflate".  A future release of lighttpd 1.4.x will not contain mod_compress and lighttpd may fail to start up

And why were there 3 instances of php-cgi after I manually restarted lighttpd? Does the WEBUI also use php-cgi? I definitely wanna cut it to only ONE! Smile

Code:
 7151 root     lighttpd -f /jffs/etc/lighttpd.conf
 7152 root     /usr/bin/php-cgi
 7153 root     /usr/bin/php-cgi
 7154 root     /usr/bin/php-cgi

Summary

After cold boot, nothing unexpected so far. I am keeping this report short. Smile

Those are probably debug output and negligible. Does lighttpd not work, whatsoever?

You can test the command yourself using a SSH/Telnet shell. Lighttpd should NOT have been loaded! Smile

But then, I am not so sure about the version of Lighttpd in other routers' DD-WRT builds. It could have just happened to Asus RT-N18U.

Did the error mention a future version of Lighttpd? I dunno.... I don't track these things.
