Greetings, not sure if this is for general, or should be for my specific router. Since it seems to be more about dd-wrt than the router, I'll try here.

I'm rather new, but have been a lurker for a long time and have been using dd-wrt for years without issue. Many of the guides and posts here have been of great value. But this one has me puzzled.

I have a nighthawk R8000 flashed with DD-WRT v3.0-r47656 std (11/18/21). I just recently updated to latest beta build, but it was doing this before the upgrade; I had hoped the upgrade would fix it.

I'm having an odd issue where the 2.4 decides it doesn't want to allow anything to connect (but is visible), yet the 5ghz is just fine. I have set it using best practices according the basic setup documentation. The only fix is to reboot the router.

Only thing I have added is a usb mount, which is setup as a NAS SMB. All have worked flawlessy for the past months.

When I log into the admin panel (while hardwired and on 5ghz), nothing seems amiss. So it's really hard to diagnose. All terminal commands from my computer return normal (aside from the 'no internet' message from the gui). I have several IP cameras, light switches, and basic Wireless/ethernet hosts. Nothing fancy. Could it be hardware?

I can't figure out where to begin since the 5ghz works just fine.

2.4 is set as follows:
- wireless mode: AP
- w network mode: Mixed
- w channel: Auto
- channel width: 20mhz
- SSID Broadcast: enable
- explicit beamforming: disable
- implicit beamforming: disable
- Airtime Fairness: disable
- Multi to Uni: Disable
- Network Configuration: Bridged.

As mentioned earlier, I haven't done anything wacky or advanced; just stuck to the basic setup guide.

Any help would be appreciated. And of course, if this isn't the right place for the question, feel free to remove it.

Thanks.

Just be sure you don't confuse AP with client mode settings.

Moved to Broadcom so that it will get better attention.

possible to capture syslog/klog, especially when 2.4GHz clients are trying to connect?
