One of the devices is my QNAP NAS which is hard wired on my 3200. On the NAS is my Plex Media Server. I do not have the NAS uniquely defined to the router in any unique way, maybe it should be? The NAS and all devices route via my OpenNetVPN client (ExpressVPN). The problem is that other devices with Plex players all route over the internet and through the VPN to get back to the PMS. What do I do to route them locally and keep all the PMS traffic on the LAN.
Thanks.

I will transfer this to the Advanced Networking forum maybe it attracts more attention there.

I do not use plex so just a long shot but you can try to instruct DNSMasq to always use the plex local address, add in Additional DNSMasq options (something like, i am not a DNSMAsq expert Sad ):
address=/myplexserver.com/192.168.1.x

I set up QNAP & PLEX many years ago following instructions found somewhere on the Plex website and I found this in Additional Dnsmasq Options.

Code:

# added below to allow PLEX to DNS rebinding to allow secure connections over local network (following Plex documentation here)
rebind-domain-ok=/plex.direct/

I don't know if that will solve your problem. Here's a web page with more information that might help you figure it out.
