Came across a used/broken R9000. Boots, no IP address, solid Power light internet. Ethernet ports light up when plug in and out. Ethernet ports flash orange after power up then turn off, but go white when plugged in.
Does not give a DHCP IP, can't log-in to 192.168.1.1 etc, tried static ip addresses.
Hooked up a serial USB cable and this is the output:

It may be that you use the spacebar to break boot; this device uses u-boot, not CFE. If the flash was completely wiped out, then everything has to be restored. Have you tried putting it into TFTP recovery mode? Power up with reset pressed until the power light flashes white, if I am not mistaken. _________________ "Life is but a fleeting moment, a vapor that vanishes quickly; All is vanity"

tried tftpd, didn't work, wouldn't respond. can't ping it either. I tried the nmrpflash from the wiki, and that just timed out too.
by everything needs to be restored, you mean by reflash the firmware with tftpd? i have the stock and ddwrt img's (want to move it to that) (tried both tftpd64 and windows built-in)

Then the only way you're going to re-load the entire flash chip is with a clip-on eeprom programmer, most likely. And you would need the fullflash dump of a good device with all the same hardware IDs, methinks. How they managed to wipe out the u-boot partition is beyond me. If you don't have the equipment to restore this device already, it's not a cheap investment and you would have to be doing this and charging folks to get any ROI. _________________ "Life is but a fleeting moment, a vapor that vanishes quickly; All is vanity"
