Sup guys!

Wanna know something about my network.

If I'm using two routers, does router #1 can see which computer/devise are connected to router #2 ??

Example

Internet goes to router #1 (flashed with dd-wrt firmware).
Router #1 is connected to router #2 (not flashed).
Router #2 is connected to devise (in that case it can be laptop).

My question is, on router #1 control pannel, I see one devise but MAC address isn't the same as what ipconfig on laptop says. Can it be router #2 ?

Thx for helping

Without more information...

My guess is router #2 is doing NAT, so router #1 only sees router #2, and not any devices that router #2 is hosting.

A very basic description is that NAT (Network Address Translation) converts one network address/information to another.

Don't know what to add as information, not an expert as you ;)

The only thing I could say is router #1 control panel sees a devise. I would like to know if it's router #2 or laptop (connected on router #2)

But as per your post, you think router #2 only shows it self and not any devices connected to it, right?

Pictures are worth a thousand words. What does router #2's label say as far as hardware address, does it show this information in it's webUI? Does it match what you're seeing on DD-WRT? Also, newer releases show the upstream router as connected with an asterisk as the hostname. It's difficult to see what is on your side of the screen without pictures...

We need more information to help.

Start with the router models and build numbers but we also need how the routers are setup.
Are they just daisy chained i.e. routers are in default gateway mode?
Or are they connected differently see:
https://wiki.dd-wrt.com/wiki/index.php/Linking_Routers

Furthermore you are posting in the wrong forum.

Please read the forum guidelines with helpful pointers about how to research your router, where and what to download, where and how to post and many other helpful hints:

I will transfer this thread to the advanced networking forum
