My router is a 3200 with NORVPN, PBR, QOS and wifi disabled.
After R47282, any browser going to a new website needs several refreshes for the site to complete.
I'm a real beginner. Is there a particular tweak I need to fiddle with so I can move on from 282?
Thanks

what is your wifi setting?
You can upgrade to the latest firmware version. Most of problem will be solved unless wpa3 encryption.

try to reset to default setting and don't import the old setting file to new firmware. Sometimes old setting file will cause problem.
I think ddwrt after 10-20-2021-r47581 becomes more stable due to kernel update and re-write all httpd code

I believe my VPN and others are configured correctly since they work fine with 282.
I've hesitated starting from scratch, but will give it a try.
will update later
thanks to you all

So here is what I've tried
with R47282 and VPN everything works fine
with R47608 reset start from scratch no vpn everything works fine
with R47608 reset start from scratch with VPN not so good. I either wait for the page to complete or I hit F5 to get the browser page to complete.
I'll contact NordVPN for the latest configs and update later

I think I found the problem. I'm signed up for the NORDVPN SmartDNS service and was using PBR to keep TV's etc accessible to Amazon etc.
WRONG!
I turned off PBR and all TV's can see Amazon and PC's are "cloaked"
Solved

Build 47282 has an earlier DNSMasq version it could well be that that is the problem.
When using PBR are your TV's then using the Wan?
Have you enabled/Ticked "Ignore WAN DNS" on setup page?
Regarding Smart DNs have you added both:
103.86.96.103 and 103.86.99.103 to static DNS 1 and 2
when using VPN what is the output of:
cat /tmp/resolv.dnsmasq
cat /tmp/resolv.dnsmasq_isp
As a quick fix when using the latest build try with disabling "Query DNS in strict-order" on services page _________________ Routers:Netgear R7000, R6400v1, R6400v2, EA6900 (XvortexCFE), E2000, E1200v1, WRT54GS v1.

First I'm a real beginner.
Everything now is working OK now except I'm unable to securely log on to my network nas. I assume this is totally unrelated.
So to answer egc's questions:
1) My TV's are all connected by ethernet to my home LAN
2) Sorry I cannot find "Ignore WAN DNS" so I don't know how it's set. I'm connected to my ISP via static connection.
3) Yes I did set 103.86.96.103 and 103.86.99.103 to DNS 1 and 2. Regrettably the NORDVPN SmartDNS tutorials are confusing. After contacting their customer support, I was also told they do not have an updated tutorial for the latest DD-WRT beta's.
4) Sorry I don't know how to view cat /tmp/resolv.dnsmasq & cat /tmp/resolv.dnsmasq_isp. Point me to a "how to link" and I'll give it a go.
5) The "Query DNS in strict-order" is currently enabled. Since it's all working I'll leave it alone

This settings is on the Setup -> Basic Setup tab in the webUI; You being on a static IP may not have this setting visible.

You do this via PuTTY / Terminal via telnet or ssh.

Well, if you run into issues, you may have to disable it. _________________"Life is but a fleeting moment, a vapor that vanishes quickly; All is vanity"
