The apartment complex I live at now has some fly-by-night ISP. Internet went out for the whole complex yesterday and the ISP could not fix it remotely.
Got a message this morning they were sending someone out tomorrow to fix it meaning it will be down for more than two days.
Plugged my iPhone into my Linksys w/DD-WRT and, boom, back in business until it's fixed. Cell provider caps hotspot to 5 Mbps but that's fine for what I need to do.

What did you have to do to make this work?
My Netgear R7000 has both a USB 2.0 port and a USB 3.0 port, which I assumed I might use for either storage or printer connections, but never thought about connecting to my iPhone as a quick solution for internet connectivity.
I've used tethering from my iPhone to my PC in the past by each of Wi-Fi or directly cable connected, so I'm mostly interested in knowing what you did in DDWRT.
It's all in the hips. Under Setup -> Basic Setup -> WAN Setup -> Connection Type <wink>
