Archer C9 V2 Unbrick - TFTP Works, but No Lights...

I'm attempting to unbrick a TP-Link Archer C9 V2 which was running DD WRT 45130, but did not appreciate attempts to re-load the stock firmware.

Putting into TFTP mode is no problem and it consistently pulls the firmware file that I serve up as "archerc9v2_tp_recovery.bin" - however, after this completes all of the lights go dark and no further progress can be made.

I've tried flashing stock images from TP-Link, various known working versions of DD WRT (45130, 30880, 29409), and stripped-stock images (https://github.com/sowbug/archer-c9-back-to-stock), all to no avail.

Am I missing a trick here? Any advice appreciated!
