For the 2.4 GHz Wifi I have (ATH1)

Wireless Mode = AP
Wireless Network Mode = Mixed
Channel Width = Full (20 MHz)
Wireless Channel = 8 - 2447 MHz (Tried several channels)
TurboQAM = Disable
Wirless Network Name = Secret (Not Actual Name)
Wireless SSID Broadcast = Enabled
Advanced Setting = Unchecked

Firmware = DD-WRT v3.0-r44715 std (11/03/20)

If I leave the security open I can connect which I don't want to do.

For Wireless Security:

WPA2 Personal with COMP-128 (AES)

Everything else is unchecked and/or default values

What happens is that my phone for example will connect but then cannot get an IP (My phone only has 2.4 GHz Wifi).

My phone will however connect to the 5.0/2.4 GHz Wifi on this router (ATH2) which is setup identical.

I have some devices that are 2.4 GHz and will not connect to the 5.0/2.4 GHz WiFi so I'd like to get the 2.4 GHz WiFi working.

I've attached print screens of the settings on my router for ATH1 - WiFi 2.4 GHz (Not Working) and ATH2 - WiFi 5.0/2.4 GHz (Working for most devices)

You are posting in the wrong forum and using an old and obsolete build.

Please read the forum guidelines with helpful pointers about where and how to post, how to research your router, where you can find builds and where not and many more helpful tips:

1 -- I was confused on finding the correct forum. I searched for a forum about my router and didn't find anything. So I need to look at the CPU Model and post in the forum for that Brand? (In my case Marvell Armada 385)

2 -- Why is the router database not the place to find builds?

3 -- Why are all build classified as beta? I'd rather have one that has moved beyond beta.

First web search result for "wrt3200acm site:forum.dd-wrt.com"

Because it is not updated until an agreed upon across-the-board stable build has been decided, it has never been up-to-date and now we are seeing issues with 44715, the newest build shown on the router database. Also, there have been several devices whose support in DD-WRT has been added since the last router database update.

DD-WRT has been in beta since 2008; before you even joined the forum.

So there's no such thing as a DD-WRT Firmware version that is not Beta?

Correct. Look at the recent new-build threads in the Marvell (in the case of the WRT3200ACM) forum to pick the best beta. It's always a judgement call.

No one says its a great system. But it is what it is.

I've upgraded the firmware and I still have the same problem:

The router has three built in Wifi's

ATH0 -- 5.0 GHz -- Auto Channel
ATH1 -- 2.4 GHz -- Channel 8
ATH2 -- 5.0 and 2.4 GHz -- Channel 6

I have some of my old devices working on ATH2

ATH1 and ATH2 are setup exactly the same except for SSID and the channels.

I've tried different channels on ATH1 and even Auto Channel.

The only way I've been able to get a WiFi device to successfully connect is to turn the Security Off.

I have a Samsung Galax S5 that will connect to ATH2 but not ATH1.

I get the following error:

"Failed to obtain IP address"

Current builds have wlan0, wlan1, and wlan2 instead of ath0, ath1, and ath2, so what build did you flash? You may still be on something old.

Also, disable ath2 (or wlan2). It's not a real, usable wifi interface and doesn't even connect to an external antenna. Apparently it's for sensing certain radar signals for regulatory reasons. In any case, many WRT3200ACM owners before you have found that it causes all sorts of problems if enabled.

I'm on the very lastest build - It was in the subject line of my last post.
DD-WRT v3.0-r47528 std (10/10/21)

It's the same settings...I'll take new print screens and attach. I didn't notice that it was WLAN1.

My old devices (2.4 GHz) are only able to connect to WLAN2 so I don't want to disable it.

WLAN1 only works when I have no security on it
WLAN2 is the only one that is working for my old 2.4 GHz devices

These settings have been working well for me on my 3200ACM. If you can disable wlan2/ath2 as a test, that would eliminate a variable. Your wifi security settings look fine.

I'm not seeing the settings you mention.

I'm not seeing any attachments (maybe it was an attached print screen).

I'm not sure what happened. (Why I cannot see any attachments any longer)

---

I posted this with an attachment and now I can see the attachments.

What's that about?

You also have to click the checkbox for advanced settings to see them to adjust them. No further comment.

I used the settings that pbphoto posted and my WLAN1 connected FAST on my Samsung Galaxy S5 phone.

I have some other devices I want to move over from my old router to this one (WRT3200ACM). I'll let you know how that works out.

I have most of my network hard wired.

I have a Chromecast device that I haven't used because it was so slow (due to using the old router with old WiFi).
