I have a Linksys WRT3200AC running DD-WRT v3.0-r45229 std (01/01/21). The linksys internet port is connected to my Verizon router lan port. On the gateway router, I have forwarded ports 500, 4500 and 1701 to my pc running the softether vpn server. I setup l2tp with my server ip, user name and password. When I press connect on the status/wan tab, the page refreshes, but remains disconnected.

Prior to loading dd-wrt, I could connect to my vpn server using the linksys software.

If your PC is connected to your linksys router you have to port forward from gateway router to your linksys ip address and port forward on the linksys router to your PC'S ip address.

You are posting in the wrong forum, no problem as I will transfer this thread to the right forum for you.

But please read the forum guidelines with many helpful pointers e.g. where to post, where you can find builds etc.

Thank you for moving my post to the correct place. My pc hosting the vpn server is on the gateway lan with it’s ports forwarded. I tried looking at the logs when I attempt to connect, but I’m not seeing any errors.
