[WARNING]: This thread is only for feedback on this beta release for developers and the community's benefit.
DO NOT flash this beta release unless you understand the risks involved and device specific recovery methods.
Avoid discussions! Create threads for questions, general problems or use search; this thread is not for support.
Please list router model & revision, operating & wireless mode(s) and exact filename/firmware image flashed.

Downloads: (DD-WRT website) HTTPS & FTP (try another if a link does not work)

CLI Flash: 'cd /tmp' then 'wget {file URL}' (http only) or 'curl -O {file URL}' (https, http or ftp). 'write {file} linux' then 'reboot'.

Repository: Trac SVN changelog since last build r47479 (GitHub mirror)

Notes:
OpenVPN 2.5.3: Guides, Server, PBR, Reverse PBR, Client (see second post), Kill Switch, update tips, scripts and more.
WireGuard 1.0.20210606/Tools: Changelog, Guides, Client, Server, Advanced, PBR, KS, tips and scripts. Thanks BS & egc!
• CVE-2019-14899 VPN fix (applicability depends on VPN setup) and GUI toggle since r41813.
Experimental build option for Broadcom 8MB+ K2.x devices (limited currently): broadcom_K3X_mipsel32r1
• Broadcom MIPS devices are now on kernel 4.4. • Support added for TP-Link Archer C8 v2 and v3.
MiniDLNACoovaChilliPrivoxyiperf3cakeFreeRADIUS OpenSSL BusyBox dnsmasq Unbound Tor Squid SmartDNS Asterisk
In-kernel Samba (ksmbd 3.4.2): default min/max versions changed. • WSD update ANTFS/NTFS3 kernel mode driver+++
• Added swconfig support for Broadcom devices.
CVE-2020-26147, CVE-2020-24586, CVE-2020-24587 & CVE-2020-24588 (Fragattack) fixed.
• "Assign WAN port to Switch" feature removed; likely no longer required. • MAC Filtering fixed in WebUI (see 47184-47205).
New DD-WRT inspired themes conversion by the-joker & BrainSlayer, micro devices excluded. • Sputnik Agent is removed.
"Ignore WAN DNS" also ignores WAN domain. Thank you BS & egc, also dTX for reporting, twindragon6 logs and buffpatel!

Issues, observations, and/or workarounds reported:
DNScrypt 1.95 can still be used in the GUI, but v2 (not compatible) requires Golang and thus Entware. #6246
WDS does not work on Broadcom ARM devices (only MIPS<->MIPS) & bridge modes on k4.4 devices may sometimes work
in some configurations for certain builds but are not supported by the bcmdhd driver. Use client or repeater instead.
VAPs not working at boot fixed for unbridged VAPs in 40562 - 40566. Effective startup commands discussion thread is here.
If start-up scripts do not work from USB add a delay, e.g. wait script or 'sleep 25'.
Broadcom ARM devices if 5 GHz channels are missing, via Telnet/SSH: 'nvram set brcm_unlock=1' 'nvram commit' 'reboot'
Show us your findings with steps to reproduce, configuration, output, logs and important information below!

Important:
• For issues provide applicable info: 'dmesg', 'cat /tmp/var/log/messages', syslog, klog, serial, strace, tcpdump, wireshark etc.
• Any firewall NAT or WAN issues, show output: 'iptables -vnL', 'iptables -t nat -vnL', 'iptables -t mangle -vnL' and /tmp/.ipt file.
• Search SVN tickets & discuss in forum before opening. Before reporting: reset & manually set up, not restore from a backup.
• Please include operating & wireless modes (e.g. Gateway, Router, AP, CB, WDS, Mesh) & relevant configuration information.

File/Kernel:
Previous/Reset:
Mode/Status:
Issues/Errors:

Router/Version: Asus RT-AC68U E1 / DD-WRT v3.0-r47481 std (09/24/21)
File/Kernel: Linux 4.4.283 #4112 SMP Thu Sep 23 03:19:12 +07 2021 armv7l
Previous/Reset: r47479 / As per doctor orders
Mode/Status: Gateway / mostly operational
Issues/Errors: 3 issues, #1) annoying as heck.

1) VAP (wl1.1) clients get disconnected on clicking Apply on any page for any reason. Wont reconnect until - Known workaround command line interfaces/NAS down/up (its also stored as a startup command in nvram)

2) website loading issue in various browsers. Under investigation.

3) After upgrading and message successful router IP is set automatically to as follows.

https://IP/upgrade.cgi

Problem: When router becomes available and goes to this IP automatically it will cause another reboot, and another until you set to https://IP or https://IP/somethingelsebutupgrade.cgi

I dont know if all routers do this after upgrade, mine is doing it now for the last 10+builds

Fun right?

Th VAP workaround is annoying, as a stop gap add it to the Firewall (Administration/commands/Save as Firewall)

The theory is that its executed again after changes (not sure if it works after all changes though and/or has side effects).

But a permanent solution would be welcomed Smile

It is saved in admin/commands as startup, not firewall, I detailed on report and your theory assuming it was a typo saying firewall, doesn't hold water. This only applies on reboots but it would be nice if your theory would be correct in assuming the Apply would also run that somehow.

Maybe that cold be added as a workaround in code?

OR do should I to save as a firewall command as well as a startup?

If you were able to flash an upgrade via https and it not brick your router, kudos. Last I knew, upgrading via https on any device was broken and disabled. Don't have time right now, but I'm looking at the function for "Apply" and back-tracking it (again). Kinda lose interest sometimes; because why help the ingrates. Shame on me for being grumpy, lol.

Flashing via HTTPS works and has worked on this router since ... last year when I received it. Its not disabled and thank gracious for that it works, unlike my old buffalo which would soft brick all the time and only could flash upgrade over TFTP, not even command line worked on that.

/offtopic
I'm no ingrate, else I wouldn't do anything towards this project, please refrain lumping me with the other coal pieces you found lying on the floor... thx Wink

@the-joker, you could add it both to Startup and Firewall but I think/hope adding it to the Firewall only should do.

Famous last words. =)

You know I noticed something odd. I haven't added the firewall commands yet, because the browser connect issue, was testing other DNS and clicked Apply there and the VAP connected clients didn't get kicked by the time I checked status/wireless, but when I went to the admin page and clicked apply there, bingo, bobs you uncle, all been booted out.

The VAP clients cant re-connect is not exactly the correct term, they re-connect, show up on the status/wireless for a split second and disappear again, it keeps doing this until the commands are ran and they re-connect and stay connected.

Let me try the firewall thing.

Why cant dd-wrt do this internally for the affected routers until some actual proper fix?

@the-joker: I wasn't adding _you_ to the coal pile. The coal pile knows who they are, or should. As Forrest would say, "And that's all I got's to say about that."

Put this on my E1500 (@353) yesterday (from the test build server); to prep for taking it to FL in Nov. Don't have it connected anymore to grab it's data, but K3X nv64k with no reset in AP mode onto an early 2020 build, and cleaned up Switch Config. Seemed to be working fine, so no matter anyway. Wink

Is somebody missing a kernel patch?!?
It looks like it might be a Northstar only thing.

https://svn.dd-wrt.com/ticket/7474

Errors:

Dec 31 16:00:09 R7000 kern.warn kernel: Ignoring unrecognised tag 0x00000000
