Hi.
I'm using TP-Link TL-WR842ND v2
For filesharing via Samba I need 3.0 or 3.11 protocol version which have encryption. It for sure supported in DD-WRT.
But at Services > NAS in dropdowns "Minimum / Maximum Protocol Version" listed max "SMB 2".
Tested on latest today's beta (09-23-2021-r47479). Same on old betas 01-03-2020-r41874 and 12-31-2020-r45219.
Question: is this mistake? Or SMB 3 disabled for this model due low performance / flash size?
P.S. I extensive googled before posting.

Try clearing your browser cache; if that yields no joy, I would try a hard reset ('nvram erase && reboot') and reconfigure from scratch - do not use a backup config as there may be applicable variables written on boot that are different than what is currently on the device. Looking at applicable information, I cannot find anything specific that says this device wouldn't include it, but I will continue looking. It has 8MB flash, so it *should* have full samba functionality, but no guarantees.
EDIT: Some configuration information in public source repository has not been updated in quite some time; so not sure if ksmbd and wsdd2 are included in this device's configuration, whatsoever. _________________ "Life is but a fleeting moment, a vapor that vanishes quickly; All is vanity"

kernel-panic69,
Thanks for quick answer and research.
Clearing cache or reset not helped.
I digged into firmware file and found file /etc/config/02samba3.webnas which defines related options in web-interface.
And there's no mention of "SMB 3". Same into source code
This is related for samba36 version. But samba4 contain more options and "SMB 3" too: same file
So seems for this model firmware compiled using older version of Samba.
This can be somehow fixed in future builds or easily manually overrided?
Maybe replace /usr/sbin/samba_multicall and samba4.webnas from other router?

I can always inquire, but no promises. I think part of the thinking behind leaving the older samba version on there, etc. was because this router's hardware specs may not allow for the newer samba version. The encryption alone might make it choke. For comparison, here are the specs for the 842 v2 vs. the 1043 v2:
The 1043 v2 includes the newer ksmbd/wsdd2, and the 842 does not, as we have already determined. I have not checked a similar Broadcom device to see if the newer samba is there or not (yet) to see if it is the same scenario. _________________ "Life is but a fleeting moment, a vapor that vanishes quickly; All is vanity"

Well, fair enough. So, initial assumption about hardware was true and this is not error.
Eh. Will negotiate encryption absence in some way.
Thanks for help!
