Hello,
I've a TL-WR940V6. I just flashed it. And it works fine.
I need the OpenVPN feature to use it with NordVPN.
But Unfortunately, in the Services/VPN, I can find only PPTP client.
How can I do please? I really need the OpenVPN feature.
Thanks

Im sorry to disappoint you but OpenVPN is not present on 4MB flash size units, moreover to sustain a decent performance OpenVPN needs a powerful CPU...
you have to consider getting a new router with at least 8MB flash size minimum...
For best results find a dual core CPU router in range of Netgear R6400v2, R7000 those will deliver around 30-40Mbit over VPN... for better speeds Netgear R7800 around 100Mbit or R9000 150+Mbit...last and most powerful solution is PC with dual LAN ports, running DDWRT...preferably with CPU that supports AES instructions...
Better speed you may obtain via Wireguard if your VPN provider supports it...

^^^^ 100% correct. 4MB flash devices will not have OpenVPN. Yet more information that needs to be plainly known for new users.

Please either remove or re-size your image attachment or link it from an image hosting site. Images are not to be wider than 768 pixels.

question:

If replace a 8MB flash, how to add openvpn module to the firmware with some modification?

Is it possible?or need to re-compile the firmware?

I know there are tools to unpack and repack the dd-wrt firmware.

Why not just spend the money on a capable router?
