I have a Tplink WDR3600v1 running almost latest DD-WRT v3.0-r47381. It was previously running openwrt 3 years old.
now radios aren't working properly. I don't see any wifi signal on laptop or mobile devices.

Well everything seems to work (based on the screenhots)

but 161+165 is a bad channel

161 is the primary channel
165 is the 40Mhz extension channel

and this is more or less not a valid configuration

161+157 would be a better configuration

and that some clients can't see the channels doesn't surprise me either, the firmware of the clients must support at least UNII+3 and not all clients support all channels

so better test the lower channels and start with 36

I can't see 2.4Ghz wifi either. It is on Channel 9.
Yes I had issue with channel 36-40 on my other router Asus RT-AC68U running tomato 2021.5 , mobile clients could not connect.

well if there was openwrt on the router before then it can't hurt to delete the nvram

nvram erase && reboot

this is first broadcom and not atheros
and secondly tomato and not dd-wrt

as said delete the nvram, configure the router correctly and then look again

Edit: typo corrected

Cleared NVME from ssh. changed setting but only success is I can see two wifi direct device both windows but no other clients. one of these is atleast 20 feets away. WDR3600 is sitting 2 feet from my main wifirouter/FTTH modem but still no sign of either ftth modem
s wifi or dd-wrt's own wifi

Well the site survey searchs for accesspoints
only AP in master mode send beacons frames
Stations / Clients do not send beacons frames and therefore can not be found

The site survey search is also radio specific and you have searched only with 2,4Ghz / wlan0

you will not find your own dd-wrt router in the site survey

you have selected USA as regulatory domain
they only have wifi channels 1-11 in the united states
the modem could also be on channel 12-13 - who knows / not enough information

network mode should be N/G-mixed and autochannel should certainly be disabled for now

I am in office, I do have access to my tomato router using tail-scale subnet feature.
I did a site survey and my main router/ftth modem is on wifi channel 7.

I will change network mode to N/G-mixed and set the channel to 7. will report again.

You can check the antennas with the following command (if clients are connected):

Code:
iw dev wlan0 station dump

iw dev wlan1 station dump

Quote:
signal: -52 [-60, -57, -60, -58] dBm
signal avg: -55 [-63, -59, -63, -61] dBm

The ones in brackets [ ] are my 4 antennas.

I can't connect any client as of yet. Both commands returned empty

I am running: DD-WRT v3.0-r47381

and wireless is working fine

the commands that were given worked for me as well... so do an ifconfig to see if wireless is even up...

you coudl try iwconfig

Are you trying to have the WDR-3600 acting as an AP or a repeater?

Are you getting to much interference, or have bad settings? Am i just not following?

Yes, the problem is that Station Dump only shows something when clients are connected.

and yousaf465 said that his clients can not see the router, as if no beacons are sent.

But something is sent according to screenshots (TX 365 OK).

I have not found many reports about the router in the forum.

The last report was possibly this one:

https://forum.dd-wrt.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?p=1224107#1224107

I also just see a typo from me

it can't work like this, the correct command is

nvram erase && reboot

So maybe delete the nvram again (correctly) or try the image from the linked build thread.

I am in any case somewhat perplexed with the router, visually everything looks ok.
