Router Model
Netgear R7000
Firmware Version
DD-WRT v3.0-r47381 std (09/08/21)
Kernel Version
Linux 4.4.283 #4024 SMP Tue Sep 7 09:20:59 +07 2021 armv7l

router works well can fetch DCHP provided WAN IP when use client mode in 2.4. if I swap to 5 it won't get an WAN IP if I set one via static still wont work.

Connecting to another DD WRT router (r8000) but that not a connection from r7000 unless I use 2.4.

Any suggestions please

When you select client mode on the 5GHz radio and save it, does the WAN mode switch to disabled? The only other option is that the driver does not support client modes on the 5GHz band on Broadcom.

hi thanks for the reply. track the problem down by using the sitesurvey option and joining from there. It only seemed able to to connect from the r7000 to the r8000 depending on what channel I was using and where the extension channels were. out of desperation found its out by click on the 2nd 5ghz network the r8000 offered and it connected right away
