Hi, what revisions of the Asus RT-AC68U are supported by current DD-WRT firmwares?

There are A1, A2, B1, C1 ,E1, V3 and B2 revisions of this router.

The router database doesn't list any models, just a dash.

The latest and most readily available is the V3 model - is that supported?

As far as I know, there has been no hardware changes as far as whether or not any versions are no longer Broadcom, but caveat emptor. I would have to do an FCC ID search. It would be great if I had FCC IDs for all revisions.

Also now with DD-WRT v3.0-r47510 std (10/04/21), you will notice that the feature set supported by your CPU shown on dd-wrt's status -> router tab is now showing the same as cat/proc/cpuinfo shows.

On my version E1 this is EDSP FASTMULT HALF TLS, previously it was showing only EDSP

I wonder what this is on the other CPU's for other revisions of this router.
Reason is because mine shows up as a C1 instead of E1 and though meaningless, I'm curious if there will be any differences here.

Would you post yours?

No FCCID info on the A2, B1, C1 ,E1, V3 and B2 or RT-AC68W unless:

https://wikidevi.wi-cat.ru/ASUS_RT-AC1900 = RT-AC68U C1

But it sure would help the larger picture out to have verified information to further research.

Did you attempt flashing the RT-AC68U firmware file (asus_rt-ac68u-firmware.trx)?

Hi, I did not find clear information if the A2 version of Asus RT-AC68U is flashable or not.
I bough a used router with that version and with manufacturer date 2015 and successfully flashed it. The router is working great with openvpn client and wiregard serer on it.

I just want the share the procedure (that is more a less the same that is on wiki):
1- Download latest ddwrt version for the router;

2- download asus restoraion tool and install it. Put the ddwrt firmware on the asus tool folder (Firmware_Release)

3- Via telnet to the router do a: erase nvram and after thar reboot

4- Follow this link https://www.asus.com/support/FAQ/1000814/ to install the ddwrt firmware

5- The device will restart automatally 2 or 3 times, be patient.

6- In the beggining when the user and password are configurated the browser hangs. No problem, try in another tab with the new user and password.

7- Enable telnet and do another erase nvram and another reboot. If data is needed fill it in. Enjoy your ddwrt router.

I was questioning if the A2 version was flasable or not, and the information was not clear. Now I am running it with latest ddwrt version.

I hope this could be usefull to someone.

Take Care
