Hi everyone. A friend referred me this forum because I have a somewhat time sensitive need.
First, new here to the dd-wrt forums, so please let me know if this post belongs in a specific sub forum to get better input.
I have an older Netgear R7000 . After about two years without upgrading a firmware, I finally did it two weeks ago. Ever since, I have been getting constant connection issues. Because Netgear support sucks and their forum is half helpful at the most, I was advised to simply look at installing DD-WRT onto the R7000 and just separate myself from Netgear.
So, questions.
1) Can someone point me out to a very easy-to-follow guide to upgrading my R7000?
2) I currently use my R7000's built in OpenVPN server almost on a weekly basis to login to my home network to retrieve and save files (from a local file server) and also access another computer using a program similar to Windows Remote Desktop
a) Is it easy to setup a OpenVPN server on DD-WRT for me to access my home network the same way as I currently do ?
b) Are there easy-to-follow instructions on how to setup the OpenVPN server and to generate the OpenVPN Configuration file which my remote computer can use to access my OpenVPN server (on the dd-wrt router) ?
