How can I flash from WebUI EA8500 international version? This is the back of the EA8500. I think it is the french version. The link mentioned in the wiki requires decryption key https://mega.nz/folder/8ORwGQ4I/file/VCRinAKS _________________ Upgraded to

@mrjcd: You should probably snag that file from here for your EA8500 repo of information. @yousaf465: you should be able to get that file from the following location. I do not know who's mega.nz link that is, but that definitely needs to be fixed. Google is your friend
nah ...I don't have a European EA8500 so cannot confirm any such files work.
I generally never have anything on website about the EA8500 unless I have done it myself
AND
BrainSlayer 'factory-to-ddwrt.img' have worked for a while now so they should be fine to use.
So I have to order again. Rs180 for CP2102 and Rs200 for the shipping. I already have male to female jumper cables and header strip, bought those for a ESP project. Only If I had known I could. _________________ Upgraded to

@mrjcd, for European model I have to flash BrainSlayer's factory-to-ddwrt.img with serial. Are there any videos on how to crack open the router. I don't want to break anything. _________________ Upgraded to

I cannot recall having seen a video but perhaps there is.
It was not very difficult to open up the case (NetGear R6400 and R7800 was much harder)
I did not need it for flashing DDWRT I had an older European model and could flash via the GUI.
I also have serial headers and my serial adapter is attached because this is a devlopment router and I bricked it a few times fortunately it is a easily recoverable via serial
How can I check how old it is from pictures only? any specific serial or barcode to read? I don't want to open and solder connection bcz my soldering skills are next to none.
I have attached the photo seller sent me in first post. _________________ Upgraded to

Maybe not, I have no experience with Chinese CH340G; if driver and feature support is okay then ignore me.
The router may already have pinout installed from the factory if you are lucky, and is visible without opening.
I used guitar picks and a tiny flathead screwdriver, or pry tool, to pop case open around little plastic tab clips.
To date, I have flashed three of these routers via serial, using an adaptor which uses the Prolific pl2303 chipset. Never once had any problems with it.
Also, two of the three did not have the serial headers on the board. I just pushed a header through the holes, without soldering it, and it worked just fine. Probably need to put a little pressure on it to ensure a good connection, but I was surprised that it worked, and worked well, and two separate EA850s. _________________ Linksys EA8500 (Internet Gateway, AP/VAP) - DD-WRT r53562
