Hello.

How can we use DS-lite protocole in DD-WRT?
(Dual Stack lite)

I've got a gigabit fiber connection here.
However, internet becomes usually very slower than ADSL (sometimes kilo-bits/s, that even text pages are slow to open).

Long story short, the provider puts the blame on "PPPoE connection".
I didn't want especially to change but they promotes/urges users to switch from PPPoE to IPoE.

Then belonging to IPoE, they told me that my router should handle DS-lite protocole for connection.

I checked in this forum and wiki but no luck.

Any idea?

What happens when you set the WAN to DHCP?

DS-Lite appears to be DHCP Authentication.

It's an IPv4-in-IPv6 tunnel mechanism; AFAIK, it is not implemented natively in DD-WRT, but if anyone can figure it out, PYB can.

Do you think, dhcp should be set on ipv6 and ipv4 at the same time?

What about the aftr?

Yes, I found the same info as well.
DUAL STACK Lite seems to be an ipv4 tunneling in ipv6 on the wan side, the lan side remaining in ipv4 like before.

It seems that some providers want to use this “hybrid” topology because they eventually don’t own enough ipv4 address to set up connections with users.
(What is explained here
https://ch.avm.de/fr/service/base-de-connaissance/dok/FRITZ-Box-4040/1611_Qu-est-ce-que-DS-Lite-et-quel-en-est-le-fonctionnement/)

DD-WRT is an excellent firmware, with such a wide amount of options, I love it.

I was pretty sure that DS-lite would have been implemented during the last years…. but it seems that not Sad
“Not natively “ as you teach us.

In that case, it would be too sad Rolling Eyes

If a walk around exist, what could be the eventual possibility to implement DS-lite “artificially”???

I wasn't "teaching" anything, I was just clarifying to PYB what DS-Lite was. I am trying to find wikis on things, so far I have found these:

https://forum.dd-wrt.com/wiki/index.php/Update_IP_change_on_Tunnelbroker_with_DNS-O-MATIC

https://forum.dd-wrt.com/wiki/index.php/EoIP_Routing

https://forum.dd-wrt.com/wiki/index.php/Category:IPv6

I also just emailed the developer about this.

I'm using DS-lite here in Japan and had to switch my Netgear r7800 to OpenWRT to take advantage of the ds-lite package here

I can't find any other compatible firmware where an addon has been implemented.

Could something similar be ported/created for DD-WRT? It doesn't look too complex but is unfortunately beyond me (as is much of the IPv6 transition technology).

EDIT: I see that OpenWRT packages can be installed on DD-WRT but am not convinced it can be that simple for DS-Lite although ultimately I think it's just some complex routing required. I do have a spare router running DD-WRT so some experimentation may be called for.

I presume IPv6 must be up and running first.

I never received a response on this; and nothing was ever committed. OpenWRT configs don't necessarily translate to DD-WRT directly, AFAIK...
