I would like the following option for future releases. Since it is recommended to install the same release on both partitions. See image

This is only to prevent user error, in case you reboot into a much older build on the alternate partition.

Otherwise know what you are doing to simply keep nvram space "clean" after nvram erase && reboot.

DD-WRT flashes a build to the inactive partition; it is alternating each update. Flashing both is overkill.

It also defeats the fallback purpose in case of problems, increases chances needing a serial recovery.

Create a clean configuration, then make a backup for that specific build for whatever may occur later.

It most definitely is not recommended to flash both partions at the same time, especially with an untested build. The whole point of the A/B partition scheme is avoiding a soft brick and the more cumbersome recovery methods should one of those builds be faulty -- the router will "automagically" revert to the last working firmware.

If you really must have both partitions with the exact same built then it is very easy: flash once, reboot, flash once again.
Done, both partitions now have the same build, and you are sure that build actually boots.

The only recommendation would be to keep previous and current versions flashed so that the nvram variables match; you must be referring to the discussion on Apple products. Going to leave this topic open for now, but if stupidity starts chiming in, I will lock it.
