Hey! As the last resort I thought I should make a thread about it because whatever I tried just wouldn't work and there aren't that much information about it on net. The problem is my virtual interface under wl0 won't work using repeater mode. However when I use wl1 simultaneously and use it as AP it works. Is it the same thing ? I have done everything and my wan IP on router is 192.168.1.x still virtual interface wont work. Please help, thanks!
Also I guess I made the thread on wrong category, sorry about that, can mods please move ?
Thanks a lot. My Build is 47117, I have read wiki on repeater and repeater bridge but what I actually want to do is, host my devices on a different subnet. Can I setup my wl0(2.4ghz) as repeater and wl1(5ghz) as AP or client mode to get same outcome ? I dont want devices on my secondary router be able to talk to each other. When I set wl0 as repeater and wl1 as AP it works but I haven't tried to set wl1 as client mode yet.

Suppose you use wl0 (the 2.4 GHz) as you backhaul connecting the 2 routers.
If you want that you clients connecting to wl0 are also on another subnet than your primary router you use Repeater mode (non-bridged)
If you want said clients to be on the same subnet as the primary router then use Repeater bridge
I do not profess to be an expert on DD-WRT and you may need someone with more knowledge than me to answer the question properly but from memory yes you can.
To do what I think you are trying to do you need to set WL0 as a repeater, not a repeater bridge. Setting it as a repeater will then give you the different subnet (I don't think you can do a different subnet with a repeater bridge).
I think the problem you are having is to do with the i.p. address you quote in your original post. Instead of it being 192.168.1.X it needs to be 192.168.2.X. Read this [/url]https://wiki.dd-wrt.com/wiki/index.php/Wlan_Repeater
Going forward I would suggest resetting DD-WRT to defaults and then setting it up on WL0 as a repeater and WL1 as an access point with a totally different SSID and see what happens. When you then connect to the 6700 connect to the 5Ghz (WL1) SSID not the 2.4Ghz (WL0) SSID.
Providing this all works and gives you what you are trying to achieve you can then mess about adding VAP's to your hearts content as at least you have a working starting point.
