I hard reset (followed by 30/30/30) and the router gives a ip (even gives a wifi connection allowing the default pass on the bottom of the router to connect) but does not give access to the web ui.

ssh and telnet refuse connection.

Any chance at recovery? Searched but can't seem to find any relevant info.

I've 30/30/30 reset a few times now, no dice. Advice appreciated.

Ironically, had the same problem happen with my TP-Link 1043-ND(which was supposed to be my fail-safe backup, FML), though telnet does work on this one. So trying to figure out how to flash via telnet on this model. Says its on dd-wrt v3.0-r28882 std 1/19/16

First off, do you mean 30-30-30 by reset button? If so, that is not advisable. Neither device you have in hand requires a 30-30-30 via reset button. That is strictly for Broadcom MIPSR1 devices (WRT54* series and clones).

If you're lucky, and you are getting 192.168.1.x IP via ethernet, you *should* be able to reach the webUI vi http://192.168.1.1 ... you may be using a browser that automagically puts https:// when you only specify the IP address (like Firefox seems to be doing now). Telnet is not available until you set a password for the webUI; ssh has to be enabled in the webUI first; and for both, the username is always root and the password you set for the webUI.

Flash back to factory stock firmware (recommend first version they came out with for the router) and try flashing to dd-wrt again.

Also, if you want to do a factory reset, leave the router on for at least 30 seconds and then hold the reset button for 10 seconds. That is usually how I do it.

Oh man, thanks for the info didn't realize that hard reset was only for broadcom! Shows how old my info is LOL. the WRT54 was likely my first dd-wrt.

You know I knew about the forced SSL but thought that by manually removing the s it would allow it. Your right, using a diff browser worked.

Thanks Smile
