I updated the R7000 and also noticed much better wiifi performance. I did compare the wifi driver/firmware versions and they are the same for builds 46979 & 47033 so want changed, the kernel from 4.4.273 to 4.4.274 fixed it?

Maybe this is related?
https://svn.dd-wrt.com/changeset/47005

It doesn't reflect in the wifi firmware in dmesg...

R7000 r46979
Linux 4.4.273 #3499 SMP Mon Jun 21 02:36:17 +07 2021 armv7l
eth1: Broadcom BCM4360 802.11 Wireless Controller 7.14.164.18 (r692288)
eth2: Broadcom BCM4360 802.11 Wireless Controller 7.14.164.18 (r692288)

R7000 r47033
Linux 4.4.274 #3620 SMP Wed Jul 7 05:02:24 +07 2021 armv7l
eth1: Broadcom BCM4360 802.11 Wireless Controller 7.14.164.18 (r692288)
eth2: Broadcom BCM4360 802.11 Wireless Controller 7.14.164.18 (r692288)

It won't reflect there. Wi-fi firmware version is not the driver code, or more specifically, the driver version doesn't necessarily reflect any patches done to the driver in the source code, especially for another related driver. The only exception I know of is for Atheros currently, the firmware / driver versions do reflect the differences between vanilla and dd-wrt custom. Not having public or private access to the driver_repository / build server, the only thing I can speculate on is that it could be patches to the kernel itself along with whatever driver patches were done. We won't know for sure until the driver repository changes filter out to the public svn down the road...

Thanks for explaining!

Issues/Errors: This version allowed to setup multiple DHCP Server in Setup->Networking->DHCPD Multiple DHCP Server for my wl0.1 virtual interface, but can't find where to define the DHCP server scope. Thus the virtual interface wl0.1 for my virtual AP is not working. Wifi clients can't get an IP address assigned due to no DHCP server scope defined. This feature was there for at least half an year ago. Suddenly the wifi virtual AP is not working anymore due to upgraded to a new version which I can't remember which version.

Router/Version: Netgear WNDR3700v3

Kernel: Linux 4.4.274 #10531 Thu Jul 8 06:25:36 +07 2021 mips
Previous/Reset: 47000 / nvram reset reboot
Mode/Status: Gateway / Working with but with no 5Ghz
Issues/Errors: no 5GHz

Last version where 5Ghz worked for me on this hardware was 46854, but when I revert back to that version now 5Ghz doesn't work.
Makes me think I had something legacy in my config because up to that point I had upgraded from 40559 to 46854 through about 30 versions having never done a reset once till now.
Have tried 46974 47000 47033
46974 refused to get an IP from the ISP.
47000 and 47033 both work except 5Ghz where the interface appears to be up but no packets transmit, some do appear to receive on the Sys-Info screen.

Everything is working fine without reset.
The only issue is the old case with the HW detection, as Linksys WRT54G/GL/GS.
Anyway, great job. Thanks for the input!
If anyone is asking, Netgear WNR3500L v1 is working fine with the version above.

have a great weekend!

Firmware: v3.0-r47033 mini (07/08/21)
Router/Version: Netgear EX6200 v1
Kernel: Linux 4.4.274 #3620 SMP Wed Jul 7 05:02:24 +07 2021 armv7l
Previous: DD-WRT v3.0-r38580M mini (02/05/19)
Mode/Status: AP wired and wireless / vlans/ vaps
Reset: Full reset after upgrade then manual entry of settings
Issues/Errors: Every time the Apply button is pressed in the dialog, the router will freeze and require powercycle to work again.. very cumbersome to set up. Did finally get it working then got the 5GHz wireless in an unusable state and wasn't able to reconfigure it back to work.

Tried to install version 46446 and the GUI behaved fine until setting the switch config (tagged and vlan configuration) and then the router kept crashing at this stage. Reset button got back to defaults and tried to configure a few times but no luck.

Rolled back to my last working version DD-WRT v3.0-r38580M mini (02/05/19) and restored from backup.

So I went to my Fedora Linux virtual machine and installed samba-client and nmap. Here are some funny results:
Code:
# nmap 192.168.1.1
Starting Nmap 7.80 ( https://nmap.org ) at 2021-07-09 17:00 HKT
Nmap scan report for rt-n18u.xxxx.com (192.168.1.1)
Host is up (0.0022s latency).
Not shown: 995 closed ports
PORT     STATE SERVICE
22/tcp   open  ssh
53/tcp   open  domain
80/tcp   open  http
445/tcp  open  microsoft-ds
8200/tcp open  trivnet1
MAC Address: 38:2C:4A:65:09:F8 (Asustek Computer)

Nmap done: 1 IP address (1 host up) scanned in 0.43 seconds

No port listed for WSDD2, which is usually 5355/tcp!?

MY bad... the command should have been "nmap 192.168.1.1 -p1-5355"

Also I could have used "netstat -anp"!

Anyway, I have rolled back to build 46979!

One suggestion though:

Could option "-L" be used with WSDD2 to enable logging?

https://github.com/Andy2244/wsdd2/blob/master/wsdd2.8
Code:
-L

Print out LLMNR debug messages to stdout.
Multiple \-L's to increment debug level.

You could manually restart it with that option, if it is compiled in since I presume that it's not using that command line switch by default.

Thanks! I guess ksmbd and wsdd2 are low-priority features, and they are also work-in-progress.

Expecting a newer build than 47033 ... Smile
