As a result, I decided to reload the cfe via jtag. Filled in and the power LED began to light up. Everything else is still off. The local network does not rise. But in ttl access appeared. An error is displayed there when loading

Code:

It also confuses me that when loading it does not write the load of the network card (Not my load, text "et0: Broadcom BCM47XX 10/100/1000 Mbps Ethernet Controller 5.10.56.3", not in my load).

Could the cfe firmware be wrong for my router?
flash0.os is a file or memory area?
Can someone have a backup of the main firmware and nvram so that I can upload it directly via jtag?
Is it possible to somehow check that my network interfaces are working and not burned out?
What else can you try to do with it?

https://wiki.dd-wrt.com/wiki/index.php/Serial_Recovery

output of 'devinfo show' and 'show devices'

Not sure what CFE you flashed via JTAG, but something sure ain't right. Could be MAC addresses wrong, could be a few other things. You probably didn't have to flash the CFE to de-brick. Did you wipe the flash as described in the device wiki I previously linked perhaps?

I decided to upload the firmware to the 'firmware' section via JTAG. It was a very long process. As a result, led Wi-Fi lit up. I connected via Wi-Fi, but at first I could not go to the web-admin or ping. After some manipulation with nvram, I managed to get ping and web. But LAN and WAN no ping or LED.
Can someone help with LAN and WAN?
And I am confused that the Linksys WRT54G / GL / GS is displayed in the NVRAM SHOW. Maybe he does not correctly identify the router and does not want to start normally. Where did Linksys come from? How is NVRAM created and is there any point in uploading it via JTAG?

Ok, I guess I forgot to ask. What firmware were you trying to load on this device that prompted this whole JTAG scenario? If it has the mini cfe webserver as well as the restoration tool functionality, why did you need to go this far to push stock firmware or DD-WRT to this device?

The router worked fine on dd-wrt, but at night something happened and it went out completely.
I could not start recovery, because LAN ports are not available for me. I also couldn't connect to my router via Wi-Fi.

LAN ports are not available to me now. How can you try to run them again?

Interesting, kind of like this line:
Quote:
Booting device: Linksys WRT54G/GL/GS

What firmware image did you flash to this device? Has this router always been detected as a WRT54* series device?

This line is alarming. This name is in
NVRAM - DD_BOARD=Linksys WRT54G/GL/GS
Maybe he pulls from there and then? But from where he got it is not clear.
Initially, I uploaded the firmware dd-wrt.v24-44715_NEWD-2_K2.6_mini_RT-N16.trx via JTAG. Wi-Fi appeared, but since I still could not access either web-admin and ping, and this version is truncated, I decided to immediately flash via JTAG on dd-wrt.v24-44715_NEWD-2_K3.x-big-RT-N16.trx.
Then I noticed that the manufacturer became Linksys. I thought maybe a fresh firmware. It turned out then to make access to the web-admin and through it uploaded the firmware dd-wrt.v24-23919_NEWD-2_K3.x-big-RT-N16
But Linksys never disappeared.

If this device has a mini cfe webserver recovery, that is the preferred method to de-brick, whenever possible. Now, do any of the ethernet ports work in current state? Does wifi work? Your answer was much more detailed than necessary, all I asked is which file(s) you flashed, but thanks for the information, nonetheless. I don't have this router on my desk to walk through this with you, but I am sure there are threads on this device somewhere in this forum. It is not up to me to search this information for you, it is up to you.

This model is a pain the the butt to recover...here are my files and recovery notes.

You will also need the Asus Recovery Utility.

It can be done...but its not as straight forward as other models.

EDIT - I uploaded an updated copy of my notes...it seams many have had issues with resetting to defaults for the 21530 firmware...I changed the notes to NO set firmware to reset.

@redhawk0: The last 3 edits I did to the wiki were due to your notes and someone else bricking theirs, I think. I would have to back-track. Thanks for the input and confirmation of procedure. This is one of those devices that you don't do a reset on because of the caveats, if I am not mistaken.

Interesting...When I still had my RT-N16 unit (years ago)...the notes I posted were working.

This device is very tricky to recover. If trying to recover without the Asus Recovery Utility...then I can't guarantee anything. It was the only thing that ever worked for bringing mine back to life. I did quite a bit of JTAG work on this unit too. I've included some more notes from another notes file on the RT-N16. (below)

I never guarantee any of my notes will work for everyone...so use at your own risk...but if your bricked already...its worth a shot.

redhawk

More notes:

Update to latest K26...load 21530 K3.0 build of big on the unit....then update to latest K3.0 build.
now shows 64K of nvram

To JTAG this unit you must use the /byte_mode switch with the jtag command.

On this router reset button will only bring you to recovery mode. If you wish to restore defaults, use wps button while plugging power in.

I just read this thread closer...it would appear that the wrong CFE was flashed to the unit. Here is a CFE for the RT-N16. It might be worth reflashing.

I have 2 of these. Is that CFE the one that fixed the 32k nvram thing?

yes they are a bitch to recover from. Unfortunately for the current K3 builds those seem to overflow the 32k nvram during boot.
