Firmware: DD-WRT v3.0-r46979 std (06/21/21)
Update: GUI from 46885 (46885 had an uptime of 17 days)
Reset: No
Mode: AP/Gateway, provides DHCP for other routers in bridge/router mode, runs DDNS, USB printer connected, 5 GHz wifi disabled, 2.4 GHz with additional guest virtual interface.
Issues (also present in others versions tested: 44715, 46733, 46772, 46788, 46836, 46854, 46885):
- Simultaneous disconnection of all wifi 2.4GHz (5 GHz is disabled, so not tested) devices every certain time. Solved by setting Key Renewal Interval to 0 (disabled). Personally I use 99999 seconds (max value?) for Key Renewal, to retain a minimal security (but it means disconnection is probably still happening once every couple of days, which I hardly ever notice it).
- A Tplink WA850RE vanilla extender refuses to connect to AP, showing for a second as a client in Status>Wireless, and then disappearing, cycling every 5 seconds. Randomly, after several reboots of both devices, it gets a successful connection and holds fine after that until rebooted. Solved by changing "Disable EAPOL Key Retries" from Enable, to Disable. The WA850RE is connecting fine to an ancient Tplink 740n (running version 36410) with EAPOL settings set to "Enable".
- LED lights not working correctly in general:
+Lan 3&4 always on regardless of presence or not of anything connected,
+no blinking on activity for LAN ligths,
+no blinking on activity for WAN light,
+Wifi lights behave strange when turning on&off the wifi. Tested on the 5GHz light: Device boots with 5 GHz wifi disabled (light stays off), turn on 5 Ghz (light remains turned off, but blinks on activity), turn off 5 GHz wifi again (light turns on and remains turned on).
EDITED:
New issue found:
-Max Tx Power in wifi settings is said to be 24 and 30 bBm for 2.4 and 5 GHz respectively, but maximum achieved was of 22 and 23 dBm respectively.
Router/Version: Netgear R7800
Kernel: Linux 4.9.273 #290 SMP Mon Jun 21 01:48:19 +07 2021 armv7l
Reset: YES
Mode/Status: Gateway, AP, VAP unbridged 2x, running
Issues/Errors: GUI freezing / not accessible from Wlan (tried on Mac and Windows)
Syslog:
Jun 26 19:12:03 DD-WRT daemon.err httpd[1191]: httpd : Request Error Code 408: Unexpected connection close in intitial request
Jun 26 19:16:39 DD-WRT daemon.err httpd[1191]: httpd : Request Error Code 408: No request appeared within a reasonable time period.
I already posted above main issues found on this version. Router running steady for more than 6 days now.
Wired LAN is working fine. Noticed some minor hiccups in wifi 2.4 GHz network (not using 5 GHz), but really not that frequent, and not paying much attention to them.
The following type of entries have been appearing periodically in Syslog, spaced every 1-3 hours, not sure if it means anything, but dont remember being there before:
