Hello,
I have an internet router box (called Freebox v6 in france, from internet provider called Free)
I'd like to buy a WRT54GL router and to flash dd-wrt in order to do the following
I'd like to connect the router to the box to create an isolated network :
- I'd like the router to provide IP adresses to devices via DHCP (i guess there is no problem with that)
- I'd like the machines connected to this router (wired or wirelessly) to be able to see each other but not to see machines connected to Freebox
Could someone please tell me if it is possible with WRT54GL router before i buy it ?

Why do you need such an old and outdated router ?
If you connect, that DDWRT router to that freebox, it will have a different IP/subnet and it will be behind NAT, so this is kind of an isolation...already...
Clients over LAN, will see each other...despite the fact that it depends from the router you buy, as some have a difficult switch ports(LAN) _________________ Atheros

I don't want absolutely this router but i'd like to find a low price one.
Is TP-Link Router TL-WR940N better ?
Wich one would you use for my setup ?
I tried an Honor router 3 (wich has no possibility to run dd-wrt)
WAN port of honor router was connected to LAN port of Freebox.
Clients connected to freebox have IP 192.168.0.X and clients connected to honor router have IP 192.168.3.X
All clients can see each other. They was not isolated.

Bonjour! Glad I took 3 years of French in high school.
Generally, a Broadcom device would not be recommended to get DD-WRT capability. Atheros/Qualcomm or newer Mediatek stuff would be better. I don't know what is available there, but I find AC1750-AC2400 devices in the US pretty cheap at thrift stores or ebay, etc. I'd look for available devices in your price range, then look to see what devices are supported (on the builds page), then peruse the appropriate chipset's build threads/etc to see what people say about it.
The build pages list 'tplink_tl-wr940ndv3' thru v6...it seems N vs ND relates to the antennae configuration, but you'll have to figure out if that will work. _________________ #NAT/SFE/CTF: limited speed w/ DD#Repeater issues#DD-WRT info: FAQ, Builds, Types, Modes, Changes, Demo#

Also bear in mind cheap its not always good...as those routers are for very basic needs, and they may have a missing futures, due to their very low flash size RAM..
So no VPN and some others..on this one... _________________ Atheros

You should also consider the Internet speed you have. A 150Mbps or 300Mbps wireless router with 100Mbps wired WAN port cannot provide more than 80Mbps on real-world tests (obviously even less for a 54Mbps wireless one). If your plan is slower than that it would be OK, else you'll create a bottleneck (and maybe that's why the sale tag on some gear now). _________________ If you want support, please read first the announcements and forum rules.

I'd recommend getting at least a router, which supports 5GHz channels. Especially, if you live in a wifi-congested-area.
So anything from a Cisco e4200v1 and later.
Ofcourse you can gain first dd-wrt experience with 2,4 GHz only routers, but I'd think of spending a few euros more on a more recent device. I'd believe your local 2nd-hand-sites are full of those routers. Just be sure, your device is supported by dd-wrt. Sometimse, there are different hardware revisions and only several of them are supported by dd-wrt.
