Setup:
Primary Router and Wireless AP: Netgear R7000P
Secondary Wireless AP: Netgear R6400 v1
Firmware Build: DD-WRT v3.0-r46854 std

This is for a basic home network that I'm trying to setup WIFI for guests to access. I have been tinkering for approximately 24 hours so please forgive me if my settings are out of whack. I have searched and followed several different guides to no avail. The primary issue I've had is getting internet access on the guest network on the "Secondary Wireless AP". I've attached photos of configurations for each. Hopefully you can a.) help me tweak what I have and b.) fix the internet access issue on the "Secondary Wireless AP" guest network.

I have not taken a look yet at your configuration but attached how I do it.

Especially take note of the VAP workarounds starting on page 4

Thank you for the guide- that is extremely helpful and gives me some new things to try! I have been attempting to use the DNSMasq method as I saw some chatter that the DHCP method is no longer preferred.

Note I'm able to ping 8.8.8.8 on the secondary router guest network so I don't believe it is a DNS issue.

Any potential solutions that I haven't already tried?

Review your network setup it is not optimal.

On the primary router Gateway and Local DNS should be left at its default 0.0.0.0

The secondary router is presumably setup as a WAP:
https://wiki.dd-wrt.com/wiki/index.php/Wireless_Access_Point

The Gateway and Local DNS should point to the primary router e.g. 192.168.2.1

The guest wifi from the primary router and the secondary router have nothing to do with each other (it is possible by creating VLANs to have one guest subnet but that is for the advanced class)

So the guest wifi on the secondary router has to be on its own subnet e.g. 192.168.4.1/24 and have its own DHCP server.
Just use the built-in DHCP server as outlined in my notes do not use the DNSMasq method (It works if you know what you are doing)

I fixed the network setup on both primary and secondary (WAP). Also setup guest network per your instructions but I do not get internet access on the WAP.
