So I flashed "DD-WRT v3.0-r44715 std" onto this C9 and so far it has been working fantastically. Great wifi coverage compared to it with normal firmware. Only issue I have been having is with port forwarding.

I have been using the port range forwarding to set my ports and set the IP to be the PC that I am doing this on. Main idea was just to set up hamachi so I could play some LAN games over the air with a friend. When I set some port forwards and used the "canyouseeme" site, they said those connections were closed. There is only one out of all of the ports that I set up that was open and worked and that was 27036. You will see with canyouseeme that any other port I have tried that is included, it will show as not open.

If it helps the TP link stuff is all running through a Virgin Media superhub that is in Modem mode, I have tried going through it in the other port forwarding settings to see if one of those does it and got nothing. Also turned off my firewall entirely on my main PC to see if it would just show a glimmer of hope for the other ports but it did not. Even tried to enable DMZ but that didn't go anywhere either.

I will put all the IP table stuff that I got from Telnet in here. I am not well educated with DD-WRT as I just flashed this recently to get better coverage so any ELI5 explanation or help/anything extra I need to add is always appreciated. I would just like to play some Dead Island LAN Hamachi with a good friend of mine. Thank you.

Update to a newer build. The one you installed is an old version.

ftp://ftp.dd-wrt.com/betas/2021/05-17-2021-r46690/tplink_archer-c9v4/

Once it is flashed reset to factory defaults too. Then redo all your settings from scratch.

Sometimes the old configuration even from a stock firmware will cause weird issues with port forwarding not working.

I presume you are referring to Hamachi as in for VPN ... to play Minecraft or something.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/LogMeIn_Hamachi

https://www.vpn.net/

https://minecraft.fandom.com/wiki/Tutorials/Hamachi_connection_LAN

And if you're LAN gaming, I don't see the need to do any port forwarding... only needed if you are gaming over the internet. A little more information about your setup, etc. would be ideal here. Also routing a VPN over the internet would likely be easier via router level configuration, perhaps.

Also x2 for upgrading to 46690, or as an alternative, 46446.

Your PC isn't by any chance running Windows?
Check it's firewall. It's by default on allowing from it's own lan sub-net.

Thank you for linking me to a newer version! I now know about the betas and it has made having this router feel exclusive again Laughing after updating to it, wiping all settings and making a basic minecraft port to open being 25565, it still shows as closed in "canyouseeme"

It's LAN over internet basically, playing with a friend from another country and using Hamachi/Radmin VPN to play through it like it's LAN. We are trying to play Dead Island although we are happy to test with Minecraft as we know enough about starting servers on there too. We have just not been able to connect together and I think the port forwarding for the certain game is the thing that's missing. Even UPnP was not working in this instance. It was showing Hamachi through UPnP but it would not show my available game to my friend.

The setup is just my PC connected to the TP Link which is then connected to the Virgin Media SuperHub and that is in Modem Mode.

It is running windows, For testing this I have turned off the firewall completely until it's figured out and then I will add inbound and outbound rules for the ports later on Very Happy
