I have two laptops with Intel WiFi (Wireless-AC 9560 and Wireless-AC 8265) and neither experiences any drops.
I'm using Vanilla with N/G-Mixed on the 2,4 GHz band with the following custom config:

I have the same settings NGmixed, also tried Mixed with or without fixed rates...with no avail
neither ap_max_inactivity=600 did help
My problem is not Intel clients, they are rock solid, but iOS and Qualcomm/Atheros do not like coexistence with Intel...usually few drops on first connection and than they are fine, just on very random occasions, some of those may connect, but no traffic is possible...
