OK .. this is showing up on other platforms as well it looks like. Accessing my 3200ACM from several iOS and one MacOS devices are slow loading, or not at all. I have reset and even reloaded backed up versions….

Anyone seeing anything similar?

The issue has nothing to do with Apple devices connecting and having internet access.

This is different. There appears to possibly be an issue with access the router GUI for users who have applied the most recent iOS and MacOS updates.

I am seeing this on WiFi attached iPhones and iPads as well as an Ethernet attached MacBook — all with the most recents OS updates.

The problem presents itself following the authentication to the router and appears with Safari, Crome, and Firefox.

Can other users with iOS 14.5 and/or MacOS 11.3 devices please confirm if they are having any issues accessing their Linksys router GUI and what build they can (or can not) properly access. Thanks.

46069 was the last release that didn't crash the GUI and leave a stack-track in dmesg. Apple devices that are connected at the time stay connected and working but no new devices can connect to the AP. It appears to be more than just the GUI not working. Maybe the Apple devices trigger this stack trace? Not sure.

44048 is the safe release if you have Apple devices in your environment.

My boggle here is that all of the public wi-fi APs that I run in mixed environments, currently on alpha 46450, are all working without issue. If functionality is determined by wireless access to the webUI, then that is not a good benchmark as you shouldn't be accessing it that way, anyway. Apple devices have always had some kinda quirk accessing wi-fi APs, even on stock firmware. But the problem is *obviously* DD-WRT...

While I never had connection issues with newer code levels as some Apple users have reported, falling back to the r44048 on my platform and (sadly) having to reconfigure everything, fixed the GUI problem.

The issue with accessing the GUI was not only on WiFi devices but also on a wired MacBook. The problem absolutely was/is something introduced with the newest OS code builds from Apple mixed with the post 44048 builds, I guess.

I had honestly ignored the reported Apple issues since I regularly had 4-6 Apple devices connected never with any problems, even on the most recent builds.

All is working now and I have a 44048 backup in case I try new versions that might fix the problem and need to fall back again.

Something definitely changed with these new OS images.

Rolling back to r44048 fixed my GUI issues. The only painful part was having to reconfigure everything but that’s done and I now have a backup for that config for any future fallbacks.

I don't think I will be rolling back to r44048 because I have a linux PC in my network which can administer the 3200acm just fine, just the other stuff that's annoying like network dropping and things not loading.

Like many folks here, I'm staying on R44048 because I have Apple stuff on my network.

What is causing the Apple connectivity issues with the newer releases? Has Apple implemented its own new networking standards of some kind? If so, are there any reported compatibility issues with other platforms? Linux desktops, Windows, Android phones, etc.?

Thanks.

Good questions. Apple devices work with 44048 but do not work with 44085, the next release. I've tried disabling the AWDL network, location services, and the private mac address feature on IOS, but none of these solved the problem.

Is there any issues over wired connection with MacBooks on Big Sur accessing the webUI? Are we using private browsing mode with no extensions loaded? Sadly, Pale Moon support for MacOS has been shelved, so if you can use Firefox ESR or Waterfox Classic in private mode, no extensions, then try that. With the rollout of the Apple M1 platform, there is likely some bad voodoo going on.

I think you're absolutely right. The M1 rollout will likely cause problems across all areas - networking, virtualization, just to name a few. I can only imagine that this situation would bring a whole lot of networking issues along with it.
