First, pardon my terminology if I pick the wrong technical words. I'm just starting my research on this.
I am currently using a Linksys E3000 router to handle my WAN/LAN needs. Sadly, the wireless half of it falls of quickly.
I have a second E3000 router that I'm curious if I can use as a headless/un-corded repeater.
Is this possible?
Or does the second one need to be corded?
If possible, do both routers need to be the same version of DD-WRT?
Eventually, I will be using another solution for my WAN and DHCP needs so both routers will end up being used as strictly APs. Last edited by Lil'John on Wed Apr 28, 2021 13:32; edited 1 time in total

Sorry about that. I thought I had put same for second router. I've adjusted the original post to reflect that the second router is the same Linksys E3000 as the first.

Awesome. Thank you for pointing me at the right terminology and a link.
One follow up question. Do both routers have to run same version of dd-wrt?
My current router is running an older version that I can't find my local download. The second router is running Tomato that I'll replace.
