I am getting a:

Quote:
Weak Security (WPA), WPA is not considered secure. If this is your Wi-Fi network, configure the router to use WPA2/WPA3 Personal (AES) security for this type of network

Pop up message on my MacBook Pro when I access my Netgear R7000 over WiFi.

I am running MacOS Big Sur 11.2.3 on my MacBook Pro and have a Netgear R7000 router running DD-WRT v3.0-r41811 std (12/28/19). I have WiFi set through Wireless, Wireless Security to WPA2-PSK, TKIP+CCMP (AES).

Anyone know what the problem is and/or how to fix it?

You have an old build.

Latest build (as of this moment 46442) has a bunch of security fixes

Your wireless security settings are not optimal, you should use WPA2 with CCMP-128(AES)
TKIP is less secure.

To get the best out of DDWRT and the forum read the forum guidelines with helpful pointers:

It's not about wifi config. I have the same problem, but on TPL 941ND V3.

Apple's problem, not DD-WRT so try a stronger password or WPA shared key.

Try deleting or forgetting the network on the client device you did not specify.
