Hi,

I hope, this subforum is the right one for my pretty simple question.
For my brother-in-law I bought a TP-Link archer T9 and installed the recent factory-to-ddwrt image on it.
He has a dual-channel wifi AP from his provider (lets call this box1) and this T9 is for his garden, where he can not put a network cable.
What we want to achieve is pretty simple (I think), but playing around several hours in his house I could not get it running.
The T9 should be some kind of transparent repeater within the same subnet as box1, also using DHCP and any other services from that.
box1 as has 2.4GHz and 5GHz networks, each on its own ssid. T9 should now connect to that box using 5GHz wifi and as a repeater (or bridge?) and act as a normal AP with own SSIDs, the LAN-ports of T9 should also work in that way (meaning that DHCP, DNS and other networking services from box1 should be provided to connected devices).
Sounds pretty easy, I know, but I could not get this working.
Could please anyone advice me on how to get this working - or give me some hints?
Thanks in advance and best regards,
Otto

Welcome to the forum.

I do not see that router mentioned in our database: https://wiki.dd-wrt.com/wiki/index.php/Supported_Devices#TP-Link

What file exactly did you use (always state your build number)

To get the best out of DDWRT and the forum read the forum guidelines with helpful pointers:

Sorry, it is a TP-Link Archer C9, not T9....
I used the latest beta build for that device - will also try to the latest beta...
Unfortunately I am not able to access the router right now for looking up the build number...
But I hoped that my question was not so related to the build number, as it should be a very common setup?
Best regards,
Otto
