Anyone tried upgrading the the two 16MB tsop 54 (32MB) chips to two 32MB chips to get 64MB
chips looks like this candidate should work
original 16MB chip:
IC42S16800-7T
FEATURES
• Single 3.3V (± 0.3V) power supply
• High speed clock cycle time -6: 166MHz<3-3-3>,
-7H: 133MHz<2-2-2>, -7: 133MHz<3-3-3>, -8:
100MHz<2-2-2>
• Fully synchronous operation referenced to clock
rising edge
• Possible to assert random column access in
every cycle
• Quad internal banks contorlled by BA0 & BA1
(Bank Select)
• Byte control by LDQM and UDQM for
IC42S16800
• Programmable Wrap sequence (Sequential /
Interleave)
• Programmable burst length (1, 2, 4, 8 and full
page)
• Programmable CAS latency (2 and 3)
I was considering
1 x IS42S16160D-7TL IS42S16160D TSOP54 256-MBIT SYNCHRONOUS DRAM
only the old IC logo with IC42S16160 from 2003 or IC42S16800 can work.
After trying a number of chips I ended up having to reorder more chips above its probably something to do with compatibility the new board(s) wrt54g(s)v2-8 are not so fussy the v1 is.
worst case I can revert it to 32MB. waiting for new chips to show up.
