I have searched the wiki, and the help, maybe I'm blind, but I can find almost nothing about logging, how to turn it on, etc.

Searching the forum for "log" or "logging" brings up thousands of hits.

I just want to know how to turn on logging, and if possible, point it at a syslog server. Is this possible?

https://forum.dd-wrt.com/wiki/index.php/Logging_with_DD-WRT

Services -> Services -> System Log -> Enable Syslogd and Klogd then specify Remote Server.

Security -> Firewall -> Log Management -> Enable Log for if you need firewall events.

Use "cat /tmp/var/log/messages" if you do not set up a syslog server.

Command dmesg can be run without logging enabled.
