Did you ever figure it out? I have the same problem and the only way I could get it to work was to force RDP to use TCP on the remote pc. If you have a solution to allow UDP to work please let us know. Thanks

For my specific use-case (logging into one laptop with another), I decided to go a completely different route: rather than leaving the target laptop at home, I will bring it with me and connect to it via crossover cable. @eibgrad's comment about ISP performance made me realize that RDP'ing into a laptop at home wasn't going to be very practical, anyway, even if I sorted out the other speed issues (TCP vs UDP and using Wireguard).

I think I left off with fiddling with MTU lengths, but could never get a stable RDP connection.

Thanks for replying so quickly. I did some research and figured out my problem was Shortcut Forwarding Engine = SFE caused my RDP connection to time out via UDP. Changing it to CTF or turning it off fixed it. That might have been your issue as well. Just FYI.

Not a guru but that build seems kind of old.

This thread *is* from 2021; it was necro-jacked. People tend to make unnecessary comments on older threads and sometimes, it turns out to be a spam bot.
