Followed the guide here to create a WAP here :

https://wiki.dd-wrt.com/wiki/index.php/Wireless_access_point

Everything is going great after the config and is working well except I can't login to the GUI or SSH with the newly assigned IP.

I've tried a couple different builds both the latest generic 19.07.7 and an old build 44715 (which was recommended in another post here)

Don't know where to go to from here. Any suggestions would be much apricated.

Just a guess, but I know some Atheros switches need to be configured separately (e.g., TL-WR841N V9). Not sure about the WNDR4300 v1.

Code:
LAN_IF="$(brctl showstp br0 | grep -Eom1 "^eth[0-9]")"
swconfig dev $LAN_IF set enable_vlan 1
swconfig dev $LAN_IF set apply

The above needs to be added to the Startup script. Worth a shot.

Gave it a shot and still not able to reach the router after I set it up. Have to do a reset to log back in.

I'm sure you are ensuring that your client is on the right subnet with a correct IP address and that you are pointing your non-Chromium-based browser to the correct 'new' IP address of the router.

Yeah been using edge.

What's the next step? How do I go about exercising these router gremlins?

Edge is Chromium-based, unless you overrode M$ installing the "new" version. What is the PC's IP address and what is the router's "new" IP address...
